It was a perfect replacement for the capacitor on our pool pump. The pump was turning on, but not pumping, so after a couple of YouTube videos, I decided to replace this piece. Like magic, it works! It's a very easy DIY repair, two screws and a couple of connectors, and exactly the same size as the one that went out. I didn't know the capacitors only last a couple years, but thankfully, for only $10 the pump is still operating!

I seem to be on an annual cycle for replacing the capacitor on my pool pump. This one lasted just over 11 months. The operating temperature goes up to 70 degrees, so I guess I'm lucky it lasted as long as it did in the Texas summer heat. But, I really wish these things would last more than a year. At least I bought three last time, all different brands, so I'll be comparing the lifetime of each. Interestingly, when this one died, it didn't have a noticeable bulge like all other capacitors I've had to replace - I only knew it was truly bad when I put a good one in and my pump started up fine.

installed it, pump ran 25 seconds then stopped. went and bought one from a pool supply store, runs great no issues. DO NOT BUY THIS, IT IS CHEAP, BUT DOES NOT LAST!!

Bought as backup. These apparently last about a year anymore, if that and no matter the brand. The one that came with the pool pump motor was made in mexico and had a higher rating for temp (85C) as opposed to this one but all the other specs matched. These are so easy to diagnose and change out. Just makes sense to get some to have as backup so there is no downtime when they fail.
