My elkhound couldn't get enough of these! If you are squeamish about seeing or handling whole expired animals, then you probably don't want these. But these are such a great option for dog treats compared to a lot of the processed junk out there. These are baby quail, so they get chomped up quickly. My only caveat here is that they are from China. I feel torn about the product only because there is information about how these were processed.

These might make your stomach turn but at least the advertising shows you what they look like. These look like dead baby birds. I’m a bit concerned about how they were killed and if it was humane. My pets do love them.

These freeze dried quail were made in China, the sourcing is questionable. I looked up the company as well as the listed manufacturer and couldn’t find ANY info on testing, sourcing, welfare etc. my dogs semi-liked them. One of them kept spitting it out, the other would choose to spit out some and then eat others. It seemed like they would smell something sketchy on or in it.But I like that it’s whole prey, single ingredient and freeze drying preserves all of the nutrients within the birds. So they will be added to meals periodically but I would need to know more to buy again. If you don’t mind any of the listed above and simply want freeze dried quail, I say go for it.

My dogs love these treats - they are quick for them to eat and don’t cause any issues with their stomachs. Definitely a different looking dog treat but is all natural and healthy without any added ingredients. There are a lot in this container - 5 stars!

My dog and cat love this treat. When they hear the sound of the container they come and wait patiently to get this tasty treat. The quality looks good. Gives my cat a hunting enrichment. The initial sight and thought of handling a freeze dried quail is something had to get past but anything for the fur babies.

Great quality but my cats didn't take an interest in them. That's just how it is with cats and not a fault of the product.

Well first off, although it might be obvious, yes these are WHOLE BABY BIRDS. If you are squeamish, etc., you won’t like to even look at them, let alone touch them. I already feed my dog Raw so I am used to dealing with whole animal parts. My pets love these including most of the cats, and cats are notoriously picky when it comes to new treats. The kittens go crazy for these and even growl at each other (they normally are not food aggressive) when chewing. My dogs aren’t picky but being a new type of treat (never fed a whole bird before) I wasn’t sure how they’d react at first. They LOVE them and it’s a very high value reward. I give about 4 to my 45 lb dog a few times a week. It’s a very good deal for the price as there are a lot of them and it will last a while.
