I doubt it is zinc. I use high quality dye with great success but with this stuff, everything turns a murky, streaky black.Will not buy again.

The are not 3/8th of an inch, this is below 1/4th of an inch, with an openening of 3/16th of an inch. Entirely unusable and a waste of time and money
