If you have a dog that sometimes takes off, and you NEED a notification when this happens or MUST be able to find your dog when this happens, this is a not a product for you. I used this device for over a year and it was constantly frustrating and unreliable.Greatest fault is that the device has a hard time switching between wifi and cellular service. Sometimes can take hours before you get a status update if the dog leaves your home wifi zone. The problem gets worse over time. Pawfit support will provide instructions for how to reset and update the tracker, then it will start working for a while and give you a false sense of security. But, you don't know when it stops working until your dog is gone and you can't find them.I was recently on a weekend trip with my family. I got a notification that the tracker was removed from the collar, but said the dog was still at home. I called our dog sitter to check on the pup, but she found the dog was gone. Seems our dog got scared from a storm, broke out a window, and took off. Two hours later the location updated, said she was about 1/4 mile away. The dog sitter went to the reported location and found the tracker on the ground, removed from the collar when the dog squeezed through a fence on the neighbors farm.We canceled our vacation and drove home. In the three hours we were traveling our dog sitter, some friends, and the local FB group were searching for the puppy. Several hours later we found the dog, over 3 miles away.Been many times in the past year that the dog left our farm and Pawfit did not notify me. But this was the last straw. I cannot depend on this device. I switched to a SpotOn collar which is a lot more expensive, but is significantly more reliable and will not fall off if the dog rubs up against a tree. I then promptly canceled my pawfit subscription and threw this device in the garbage.I say again, if you need a GPS collar for your dog because you don't want to loose them, do not waste your money on this junk.

I live in an area with only one cellular provider, so I can't expect perfection. That being said, let me start from the beginning.PROS:1. EASE OF USE: We bought two of these...one for each of my Colorado Mountain Dogs. The unit is simple and easy to use.2. FEATURES: The app is great, and packed with exactly the features we needed out here on our mountain in Tennessee. Emergency light and alarm will work for tracking at night when the location lags in the app. The ability to send a voice command to the tracker when my pups are too far away to hear my voice. The ability to set up specific zones and then receive a notification each time one of my pups enters or leaves those zones. All great features.3. OTHER FACTORS: The lightweight unit attached quite nicely to my K9's existing collars, and that is fantastic. The puppers don't even know they are there and so are never trying to scratch or chew them off their collars.CONS:1. POWER: I fail to see how these units might last 30 days on one charge unless your pup/dog is the laziest house dog ever. Ours last about 20 miles, and my dogs cover that in a single day. So we are constantly taking these to the charger when my pups come inside for the night, every night.2. Out here in NE Tennessee, the signal for cellular service leaves quite a bit to be desired.Location accuracy has lagged about 10 minutes most of the time.....ie: my dogs would be up the road but the system would show them still here at the house.Notifications that they left the "zone" we specified for them is not instant. Not once. So, if the dogs ran down toward a neighbors, we wouldn't know it until they were already there.Even in town where cellular service is at LTE / 5G levels, the map may show one of my pups right next to me while the other shows down the street. As soon as we get home, the units generally update pretty quickly to show the accurate location because they connect to our home WiFi and the Bluetooth on our phones.3. We have already had to replace one of the clips the tracker attaches to because the pins bent. The clips were about $6 each, and we bought spares just in case it happens again.CONCLUSION: All in all, a good product....but I would suggest making the unit more co-dependant upon both cellular and satellite GPS so that location results are more accurate more of the time. Gear your product to work best for people in mountainous regions and I guarantee everyone will be 5-starring this product more often.God Bless!

A must-have gadget for peace of mindIf you're a pet owner looking for peace of mind, this is a must-have gadget. I've been using it for a few weeks and have found it to be excellent. The tracker offers fairly accurate location tracking. There's a find mode you can activate to make it update more accurate and frequent. The battery life is impressive, lasting roughly two weeks before needing a charge. Plus, the voice recall and alarm features are particularly useful for getting my dog's attention. The app is intuitive and easy to use, with a variety of helpful features such as telling me how many steps my dog has done.It does require a subscription, but it's worthwhile for the peace of mind it provides.Overall, I highly recommend this to any pet owner who wants to keep a close eye on their furry friend.
