This Nut and Bolt Thread Checker is Beautiful! The quality is unmatched and I love the way it is housed. This is a well put together set and it looks as good as it works. This is a heavy duty wall mount for IDing nuts and bolts. The entire checker is made of metal. Great time saver as I know exactly what to get when I go to the hardware store. Love it and would recommend.

This is a really nice thread checker for the most part. Most seem to use plastic mounting plates and just feel cheap. Not this one. The backing plate is thick aluminum with no flex at all. It looks and feels really nice. It should, it's definitely on the expensive side for sure. The aluminum backing plate is really nicely anodized as well, with what appears to be laser etched markings that are super sharp and easy to read. When I went through a random assortment of nuts/bolts of known thread pitch and size that anodizing it turns out to cause an issue. The male threaded sections are super smooth, everything fit great and turned freely. The threaded holes however were a bit rough. When the plate was anodized, the holes were too and as such are not super smooth. It takes some force to turn the bolts. If this weren't a thread checker, that wouldn't matter, but stiff threads can make you second guess what threads the bolt is for sure even if it isn't the bolt that is the issue. That leads me back to the price. This is a fairly premium priced product, and it looks the part, feels the part, but doesn't quite work like a premium product should. Chasing the threads to clean them out would have, or not having them be anodized would have fixed the issue and should have been done for a thread checker at this price point. If they fix that, this would be amazing. Until then, it's still really good, but not perfect, not at this price.

This is very well made. All threads are in spec on the sizes I had nuts and bolts of. It's made of fairly thick aluminum and steel bolt ends and this will be in my shop for the rest of my days. Honey wish i had gotten it 20 years ago. I have zero complaints on this.
