Ok... I'm not "that guy" who gives 5 stars to every item just because Amazon sent it to me for (almost) free.I'm the guy here to tell you if the price they are asking is worth paying for the item in question.This is a "you get what you pay for" item...The good: Works as advertised - Cool colors - No app download needed to change colors (use included remote) - Easy to installThe not-so-good: NOT waterproofThe bad: No incorporated heat sinkMy family has had a pool since the mid 90's and we've used all sorts of lights to make it look cool. One thing we've learned is that there are always multiple factors that determine how long a light will last in a specific application. When it comes to "below the waterline" lights, you can either choose lights that are completely waterproof or install a housing that is waterproof (to hold a non-waterproof light). THIS LIGHT REQUIRES THE LATTER!If you don't have a waterproof enclosure to protect your light, this will not last long unless your pool somehow keeps ALL the water from splashing it.This also has no incorporated heat sink. This may not be a huge deal (depending on where you live) but here in Illinois our summers have been creeping well over 100 degrees F. I can't fathom a light this bright staying on for extended periods without some sort of cooling. Perhaps it automatically shuts off when it gets too hot, but it may just stop working. The waterproof lights we use have thick aluminum heat sinks on them to ensure they can stay cool even when it's gone nuclear outside.All things considered, we decided to use it in a regular lamp (facing up) in our daughters' room. She loves changing the colors and adjusting the brightness with the included remote (that came with batteries).Value cost @ $50: 7/10
