Nice assortment for small detailed work. Pretty easy to use as you just thread these on to your grinder. Seem pretty durable for wood use. Carves and takes off a good amount of wood at a decent speed. They function well although I feel like they may be just a bit expensive.

As far as I can tell these are very well made. They went on my angle grinder without any issues, chiseled the wood away at a good pace, and did not get any chip damage from the 1st use. I put pictures on next to a ruler so people can see the actual size. These will get clogged up, so have a brush on hand to empty out the crevices of wood particles. Overall these are good, and I am glad to have them. I work mainly with repurposed wood and driftwood and I am in constant need of carving sections. I used to use a Dremel with small bits, but thatโs really time consuming. These larger accessories for an angle grinder are perfect for a job like that.

These are 4 generic carving bits that were thrown together as a bundle using whatever box was found. In image #1 you can see that my 4 bits came in a box for grinding disks. In image #2 you can see that although there are 2 different sized ball heads, both came in a box meant for the larger ball head. That doesn't take away from what they are. It simply means that this bundle was not meant to be a set and no attention was paid to make sure the boxes matched the product. These are generic high carbon carving/grinding bits that are well constructed and fit on a typical sized grinder shaft. As with any carver/grinder bit, you need to make sure you have control with 2 hands. The grinder handle is a requirement.Nothing wrong with the bits themselves. Just no thought at all on the packaging.

Reviewing: 4Pcs Sphere Rotary Burr with 5/8-11 Threads for 4 1/2 and 5 Inch Angle Grinder Head Attachments, High Carbon Steel Rotary Grinding for Woodworking Engraving Grinding Drilling BitsThe 30mm barrel burr was the only one that actually spun true. The others will still work, but you'll never get precise details carving with wobbly burrs.Unless you're very experienced (and very careful) with angle grinders, I wouldn't recommend using these until or unless they improve their quality control.

Im in the wood working scene enough to have seen these. Its like that one guy who can carve a bear out of a log with a chainsaw. I think these are a relatively new tool head. The 2 people Ive seen do something with these is just abstract patterning on the underside of a table. Which was neat as the free form work left an organic little detail. To start, if you dont have the handle on your angle grinder, you need one. You need to handle this tool with 2 hands, the angle grinder handle and guard need to be INSTALLED and you need ear protection. Thats the minimal amount of safety for this.Im less impressed with the balls then I am with the shafts. I have a draw knife, a benchtop belt sander and a big ol' rasp. I do not have a wood lathe. These are my usual tools I pull out when I need to form wood. The belt sander with a coarse grit is slow going and makes alot of dust, The draw knife is a hand tool and takes alot of work. The big ol' rasp is on par with this power tool, but again its a hand tool and takes time. The shafts for these look good when you need to take alot of meat off with a rasp but want it done quick. Think, if You need to make neat free form stool legs, but dont have a lathe. Or want to round out corners but need a bigger round over bit with your router. I think these are practical applications. You can probably find more practical applications and become an artist with these things if you think hard and creatively, like the guy that carves sculptures with a chainsaw. These actually look safer to use than that. It turns the angle grinder into a wood power rasp. The shafts also have a hole saw on the end. So you can drill through. Then internally rasp to make wood through hole sculpture. That would take table legs to the next level, beyond just using this tool as a stand in for some crude draw knife or lathe work. The Balls, Im less impressed by. They make half sphere concaves well. I guess you could knock out a wood dapping block? This one needs more time to think about its potential from a creative stand point. they have long shafts to get in deep with. Its probably my old angle grinders fault but these shake violently. But my old angle grinder is also sloppy and honestly just next to trash. When you get the weight off the ball this far away from my angle grinders bearing things are wiggling like crazy.

These 4Pcs Sphere Rotary Burr with 5/8-11 Threads for 4 1/2 and 5 Inch Angle Grinder Head Attachments, High Carbon Steel Rotary Grinding for Woodworking Engraving Grinding Drilling Bits are very solid. While being very heavy and nicely machined, the 2 ball head grinders were wobbly with lots of vibration. The bigger ball head to the point that either the head is off center or not completely round or you need to use a variable speed angle grinder with the rpm's way down which might defeat it's purpose and effectiveness. The 2 cylindrical grinders on the other hand work very well. They spun very smoothly with more aggression and were much easier to handle. Just make sure you use the auxiliary handle attachment with your angle grinder as others have mentioned. If you do any sort of rough grinding or shaping on wood projects than these grinders will certainly have their place in your shop. This is a nice versatile kit but just use them with utmost caution as they are sharp and dangerous if not used properly.
