Simple, elegant copper posts tops. We used gorilla glue to attach them. No issues and super simple.

Installed these on my backyard fence, as the squirrels had destroyed all my wood post caps by gnawing on them. These fit perfectly and were easy to attach with some adhesive caulk. They make the fence look nice again!

No adhesive with them - you have to put them on with caulk you buy yourself. But that's cheap and easy, and works better than the adhesive strips I got with a competitor's caps. They fit very nicely on a lot of different sizes of 4x4's - yes, they come in different sizes, and the caps from the big box stores tend to fit some too tightly and some too loosely. They look good, if not fancy, and should keep the top ends of my trellis posts rot-free for years for not much money. Nice product.

PROS:APPEARANCE: Apparently solid copperCONS:PRICEY. These cost me $7.25 apiece not including tax, which is pretty fricking outrageous if you ask me. Less than 1-1/2lbs of copper here. Pure copper spot price is only about $4 as of 4/1/2021LOOSE FIT. They should offer a slightly smaller size. These have a noticeable overhang, which is actually still a bit too big for my Home Depot 4x4 pressure treated fence posts. The Amazon photos give a pretty clear idea of how they hang over.FIDDLY INSTALLATION. Due to the loose fit, you have to be extra careful when installing them not to distort the side flaps too much. I put these on with wood screws and they pulled the sides in a bit more than I would have liked, but the alternative was to risk the screws coming loose.

These caps are solid copper and came carefully packed. After reading several reviews, I decided to install using Liquid Nails and copper plated trim nails.I set up a simple jig on my drill press and drilled holes cenetered on all four sides, just above the bottom lip.I then ran a generous bead of Liquid Nails around the top edge of the post and carefully set the cap on the post. Finally, I nailed them in place with the copper plated trim screws I found at HD.I am extremely pleased with the results. The caps are beautiful and are all still "present and accounted for" after 40 mph winds yesterday.
