There is not much to the interior workings of this thermostat. It’s a simple mechanical thermostat which can be very reliable. The instructions are clear and I appreciate the schematic drawing that is included. I am going to be installing this in a Solar wood drying kiln. I have a set of fans that will turn on at a pre-set temperature to circulate the hot air around the wood. The kiln is not completed, but I set the thermostat up on the bench to test it. I set a heat gun a couple of feet away to get the temperature up in the thermostat and wired it as specified in the drawings. I hooked it up and pointed one of the exhaust fans at the thermostat to cool it down. This simple setup allowed me to confirm that the thermostat would turn the fan on when heated and back off when it cooled down. It worked flawlessly at several temperature settings. With a current capacity of 10amps, this unit is more than what I need and is going to be the perfect addition to my homemade kiln.

Its execution is very simple yet the result of its functioning is huge. We are building a new he stead and there will be greenhouses, potting shed, and an attic in the house and they will all need a thermostat. This one is a model of simplicity and is easy to install. Hook up the hot wire, set the temperature and the fan come on when you want it and off when you don't. Nothing better than that. From all appearances this is a well-constructed device and I highly recommend it.

I needed a simple way to control an attic fan in my garage. In the summer temps will easily soar above 100 but drop in the evening. I could have just used a timer but if the weather isn't nice there's no need for the fan. This is a set it and forget it temp switch. There's not much to it. You just connect one of the black wires to the power and the other to the fan. There's a simple rotary knob on the front. Set it to your desired temp and that's it. If you lose power there's nothing to get forgotten. It's accuracy isn't down to a 1/10th of a degree but close enough for something like an attic fan.

We set this thermostat up where the air begins to enter the system in the sunroom, and set it for 80 degrees. This is so the fan will only come on when the air is warm enough in the sunroom, and when the temperature goes down, the fan turns off. It’s a really simple and cost effective way to heat the rest of the house but the thermostat is the critical component, because it only works on sunny days. I ran the hot wires into a switch box next to this unit so that I could manually turn it off when it's not needed. It’s a little difficult for me to know how accurate this thermostat is, but I set up an outdoor thermometer about a foot away and it was surprisingly close. There were slight differences, probably due to air flow, but this thing really works great for our system. This would also be perfect for an attic exhaust fan. I shopped these before purchase and this is a pretty good deal for this quality thermostat. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

My application for this thermostat seemed to fit the manufacturer’s design criteria. I was installing an attic fan to push the hot air out of the attic during the summer months. This unit is used to turn on the fan when the attic temperature reaches a pre-set level and turns it off when the temp drops below the preset. The temperature range on the thermostat is from 50 to 120 degrees F, with a ten degree difference between gradations, so if you need precise temperature setting, you’ll need to use a separate thermometer to calibrate the thermostat when you first set it up for use.The wiring diagram is on the face of the box and there are only two wires to connect. Three if you use the ground – and you should. The connections can be made outside the box with the included pre-stripped wire and can be made with wire nuts. Quick and convenient. This is a simple device, with the thermostat interrupting a single side of the circuit. For me, simple means less to go wrong and generally, a more reliable device. The temperature adjustment is made with a slotted screwdriver, and as I said before, because of the wide range of adjustment, you only need to move the adjustment screw about an eighth of an inch to change the setting by ten degrees. So again, if your application is temperature sensitive, simply use an accurate thermometer to set up the on-off point after you have the unit installed.Overall, this is a well-made (rugged, steel enclosure), simple to use thermostat for an attic fan, a greenhouse, or anywhere that needs ventilation based on heat rise. The unit will handle up to ten amps at 120 volts, which will handle most residential applications. I highly recommend it!

Extremely easy to install, so extremely basic technology that it will never break, it should last forever. The case is thick and sturdy. The only issue I had was adjusted the dial with a screwdriver. The plastic of the dial is not very strong so the screwdriver dug into the sides a bit when adjusting it because it is so tight to turn it. However, I don't the see the need to ever adjust it again and I expect this device to work for many, many years. All you need to do is intercept the black wire going to your fan and add this inline. Current flows when it is hot, current is stopped when it cools down. Nothing else to worry about.

This thermostat is well-made and features an easy adjustment rheostat. It's well-priced and quite easy to install. The wires are of sufficient length and gauge. The temperature control seems accurate. I'm using it for my shop heater and it works great.
