Only a few actually make a sound. I got them for training my puppy. I didnt need 5 of them should have spent more on 1. I would have sent them back, but said puppy decided the Amazon envelope they came In made a great toy.

Bought these to take with me when I’m walking around late at night searching for my cats, in case I need to scare off any predators. One night some coyotes chased a cat underneath my camper, I could hear the cat crying out in fear as the coyotes surrounded it. I jumped up, grabbed a whistle, opened a window & blew as hard as I could a few times & the coyotes cleared out. Thanks to a timely blowing of this whistle, a cat life was spared.

These whistles are good for their price and will work well for my intended use, which is to attach to my very young children's packs when we are out. We don't let them go off too far so i didnt need an insanely loud whistle at this point in time. As they grow, and we let them go farther away from us, we will need to upgrade these to louder whistles. I would call these mid volume whistles. But they appear to be built well for the price.

These whistles are exactly what I was looking for. I work with children. I needed something that could get their attention when noise levels are high. I don't like to yell because, well, I just don't like yelling. I sound really mean and that is not how I'd like to sound to the children in the classroom. I was looking for a whistle that did not emit that shrill, ear splitting sound typical of most whistles. While I do admit that a whistle like that is useful in certain situations, a classroom is not one such situation. The whistles I received are loud, but without that ear splitting shrillness that other whistles have in smaller spaces. You can also somewhat control how loud it is by how hard you blow air through the whistle. They are also smaller and more compact and come in several colors. Perfect for my needs.

Not a very good whistle. It is just too small a diameter at 9cm to make much noise. This might work for pet training in the same room but as an emergency whistle it is ineffective because it is too quiet.

I was taken back by how small these were yet pleasantly pleased because how loud they were..really good for signalling! and easily put into pocket and standard sized emergency kits. these were a little pricey and can be $1-2 cheaper....made in china but sounds off like American

Convenient little whistle, fits well on keychains. Good for giving to little ones when hiking in case they stray too far. Not the loudest so don't rely on it for needing to draw a lot of attention, but loud enough in the woods or outdoors to notice. Would buy again if needed,

The 5 pack whistles arrived right on time with Prime shipping and was received as advertised. They are small and light weight and do not have the little ball inside like traditional plastic whistles. It's loud when you blow but it's not ear-piercing. I originally bought these to put one on my key chain for emergencies. I like that it's not bulky on my key chain and does not even look like a whistle. I also read somewhere that it's good to keep a whistle in your first aid kit in the event of natural disasters. Since I live in Texas where there's lots of flooding and tornadoes, I did just that and recommend others to do the same. I would definitely buy again.
