It is severely undersizedAs in, ¾ - ⅞" max! Put the plate on the bar and lift the plate and there is a significant gap between the two.Sure it's a great price but by time you buy collars to fit it, you'd be better off buying a higher priced bar that either a) is actually 1 full inch in diameter or b) comes with threaded collars.I wouldn't have ordered this one but budget is really tight. I won't be able to use this because I have kids and if it were to tip in the slightest, the weight will come off. And I mean even 5° from parallel to the ground and the weight slides off because the bar is so skinny.My plates are true to size. The dumbbells and curl bar I have from 3 different manufacturers all fit my plates but not this bar.The brand that was listed when I ordered is Fitvids.Not sure why so many of these reviews have mixed brands, Amazon clearly recycling listings..
