From general drilling to creating perfect starter holes, each task becomes seamless with the right tool at hand.
Tips for Optimal Performance
To maximize the potential of your center drill bits, here are some handy tips:
1. Securely fix the workpiece in the lathe machine to prevent any wobbling during rotation, ensuring precise drilling.
2. Before drilling, ensure the surface is free from impurities. Use oil or suitable lubricants to protect the bits and enhance drilling efficiency.
3. When drilling, it is recommended to go 2/3 deep on the tapered section for optimal results.
4. Pay attention to the drilling sound. If any abnormalities occur, immediately cease drilling, address the issue, and resume after rectification.
5. Maintain cleanliness by cleaning the center drill bits before and after each use. Apply oil to store them properly, preventing rust and preserving their quality.

These bits are sharp and are lasting a lot longer than I expected being used solely on metal. These bits are a value for the money and I will be buying more from this company in the future.

De bien meilleur qualité que ceux que j'avais avant....j'espère qu'ils vont durer plus longtemps que la marque précédente dans le titane

This is a nice set of center drills - I really didn't expect it at the price they're being offered at. It is a very reasonable price for drills of this quality. I have been using these at mill and lathe for a couple months now. I've done mostly mild steel, aluminum, and a few holes started in some annealed AR400. I'm quite surprised and pleased. None of the center drills I've used look worse for the wear - they're all still cutting well. For 25 bucks I think this set is hard to beat - especially if you just plan on cutting material softer than cobalt with 'um.5 Stars for The Valyrian Tools 7PCS Cobalt Center Drill Bits Set

At this point all I know for sure is the centers are ground accurately, but I really need to use them more to be sure if the steel is good enough for my purposes.

These were a little longer than I expected, but the description was correct. I can't say how long they will last with repeated use on metals, but I use them to start holes on center on my wood lathe (also used for resin, some with crushed stone). They have been very good at this task as they are less prone to wander off center. Once The bit clears the needed width, I can switch to a standard jobber bit and it goes much straighter. The longer length does allow for step drilling, or starting smaller holes further into the work with the same centering effect. I've used them several times and I see no sign of wear. I have no complaints at all.

Nice to have these on hand. I've only used them a couple of times but the result so far has been good. If you need something like this, I don't think you'll go wrong with these.

I recently started learning to use a metal lathe and had to get some basic tools. A good set of center drill bits is an absolute must and these had good reviews. I decided to try them, and I have to say they did not disappoint. They make clean cuts quickly and stay sharp after using them several times. I have yet to try them on my drill but I am sure they will be perfect to punch holes without the bit wondering. Just remember to use cutting oil to extend their life and get higher quality cuts. I am keeping them on my expendables list to order them in the future.

Haven’t beat on them yet, but look functional and the price is good compared to what’s available in town. Cheap enough to have available when you need them.

These are a nice set of center drills - they do what they are supposed to and cut a clean taper for the center to rest in.The points aren't perfectly ground but they all cut well and work fine - especially for the price. These are Metric diameters - makes little difference to the center point but they won't fit exactly in standard fractional collets on a mill - perfectly fine in a chuck with drill, mill or lathe. These seem to cut well in harder materials and are wearing well. Cobalt can be a little more brittle but haven't had any issues with chipping.Nice value and work fine.
