They say 8k seeds. There may be if you want to count them. Instead of pictures of flowing landscapes covered in ground cover, the honest way to advertise would be a picture of the 23 dollar package. As shown in the below photo, this is considerably more expensive than solid gold. Shown below and going back tomorrow for a refund.

Throw all of them in a large pan with potting soil. Kept them moist in 80 degree temperature outside in the shade. Sprouted in three days.(Of course my wife tells me that I should not have threw all the seeds in one pan like that but should have separate them out on small pots with a few seeds each. Live and learn. :-). Obviously I am not a gardener but the seeds did sprouted. Based on the review I was worried that it might not)

These grew just fine for me but they are 12” tall and wild thyme. I was looking for a low growing ground cover dwarf thyme. Very disappointed. Now I will have to pull all of this thyme up and start over! So if you are looking for a low grower, do not purchase this one.

It’s not thyme. It started growing and I was excited but now I have a bunch of something random that has NO SMELL next to a beautiful bed of creeping thyme 😕

Update: these seeds turned out to be done type of thyme but not the tiny elfin creeping time I thought I’d bought. It grew out big and bushy like regular thyme and then it get leggy and died mostly so I pulled it all out. Not what I was expecting so I’m reducing my stars to 2 (from 4)I read a lot of reviews before I bought these seeds. I didn’t go for the cheaper ones because I read that a lot of people were getting crabgrass and other strange things. I also read about all the failures people have had when direct suing them. So, I decided to try these seeds and sew them indoors in a little jiffy starter container in indirect sunlight. From what I can tell, every single seed sprouted! They are tiny, so I used the whole packet.I have plans to plant each of my little squares of creeping thyme in between my rock stairs. They look like they need a little time to thicken and let the root system mature before I plant them. I will try and give an update once I get them planted outside! So, the price was really just OK, but if you consider what it cost in the store to buy mature plants, the seeds are a lot cheaper. But they seemed very good quality, and not a single weed in the whole batch. So overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Edit May 2020 - we have a ton of creeping thyme. not sure why it took so long to grow but I revised my stars to accommodate the explosion of seeds. Sorry for the conflicting reviewNot one seed bloomed. Bummer because i spent a ton of time planting them and now i have wasted a month of growing time.

Hi All, This is my first time using an indoor germination setup and I wanted to share my experience. I am a complete novice and I have never done anything like this before. I also wanted to share a few pics of my results so far since first ordering my items about a month ago. As well as pics of my setup.Prep-work:I researched how to grow creeping thyme from every source I could possibly find online. Then I found a video online from a Thyme Herb Company that helped. My Setup:Used some PVC and random joints from an old project to build a frame for my LED light source (See attached image)Everything below I ordered from Amazon...I ordered a Full Spectrum LED grow light for around $29.1 bag of seeding starter soil128 germination seeding kit that included the 128 plug tray, the catch tray and the vent cover.1 Automated on off timer for the LED grow light1 Soil thermometer1 heating pad to go under the tray to maintain a 70-75 degree temperature-- I ended up not using this (read below)1 Temperature controller for the heating pad - I ended up not using this as wellThe BAD:I definitely did not receive anything close to 8000 seeds and that is the reason I gave four stars. I am going by the weight and average calculation. I am pretty sure no one is actually sitting counting 8000 seeds into little packets. That would be just crazy. That said I had a lot of seeds that germinated and a lot more left over. That said, I will still order another packet from the vendor if needed. The Good:I had about 70% germination. But I think why the germination percentage is not higher is partly due to me being a novice. Also for me this is the first time using an indoor greenhouse setup and I had to do a Trial and error on my first pass. My first pass was spreading about 5 seeds per seeding plug using the LED setup and a heating pad under the tray. I got about 10% germination after 3 days and the temperature inside the greenhouse was ranging from 90-100 degrees even with opened vents. I ordered a Temperature controller for the heating pad but I did not end up using it in the end since my room temperature was around 72 degrees. The low germination rate again I blame on my inexperience and I probably burnt most of the seeding in that first round. After turning off the heating pad I was able to maintain a 75-80 degree temperature according to my thermometer. Also I did a second pass of seeding being a bit more generous this time (about 10-15seeds per block). After about 3 weeks I had about 70 percent germination. So not bad for a first time setup and being a novice. Every day in the morning I would spray the trays with a light mist to soak the top layer of the soil but not to the point of drowning the area. On some days if I notice the soil were dry at the end of the day I would add another light mist a couple hours before the LEDs were shut off by the automated switch. But at the same time I tried not to over saturate the soil with water. My opinion:I do believe if you were to plant these seeds directly outside without no religious germination process and in some sort of controlled setting. The seeding will not be successful.I have since ordered two more led light sources and a metal rack system to try and grow some kitchen herbs and other veggies. Seeing these results for the creeping thyme gave me the planting bug to try and grow some other stuff. For now I prefer the LED setup over using T5 light source but either will work according to what I read online. Both has it advantages and disadvantages.UPDATE - About 2 months since first starting this project - it is now 01_14_2019 and 10 inches of snow outside:I had transplanted the creeping thyme to larger 2inch square cells and they are growing nicely, filling out each cells as shown in updated image. Some of the Thyme are about 3-5 inches in length. I have ordered larger "5.5 inch" square cells that will fit in my 1020 trays. Next I will transplant and further expand my inventory by dividing the current filled out Thyme cells into the new cells. I will repeat this process until I have enough to complete the border of my flower bed edging. I will update the post if and when I see any flowering in late Spring I hope when they bloom. I forgot to mention that I ended up buying a couple more LED lights to help with the division and expansion of the growth of the Thyme indoors. Once I am ready to move the plantings outside I will need to have a week or two transitional period to harden the Thyme plantings before exposing them to direct full sun and the other elements outside.Update: It is now July 1st, over 6 months since I first started this project. The creeping thyme is still growing into a very thick lush green mat but that's about it. I have not gotten one bloom out of these guys. Maybe I am doing something wrong or maybe the thyme needs more "time"? Anyway I am a bit disappointed with the creeping thyme bloom results. I will let it continue to grow for one more spring season before I call it quits.

I planted these about a week ago and my hanging basket looks like a chia pet! There's got to be over 8000 seeds in the packet I received. The seeds are teeny tiny. So be careful when you're planting! Shipping was very fast as well.
