I got this for one specific purpose which was to make it easier to take the trash out. And it works great for that. I have to load my trash can every week for a 1/4 mile drive to the road. Its been fine, but I always have to use a custom ramp to load and unload. I was able to drop the storage tray down enough so that I can tilt the can and swing it up on the tray. It works great for my needs. Even though everything is heavy duty, there is some slop side to side just from it being an extension piece. That is why they included the tightening bolts on the receiver, they make everything more ridgid. For my mile long journey, I dont need that, but if I was going on the road with this I would want those bolts tightened for the best support. Good product at a good price.

This is a great tow-hitch lift & extender. It is Super sturdy, stable and well made. It come with tension bolts so you can really secure whatever you are mounting & it won't jiggle or rattle around. It can be used to either raise, lower or double your hitch openings. I use it two ways. First for the tow-hitch cargo carrier on Hubby's lower Tuscon SUV to gain the clearance needed for going up and down driveways. The upper opening is 4" above the original and plenty for raising the carrier high enough to clear even the steepest driveways or rutted wash roads. The 2nd use is on my raised Pathfinder SUV to mount both the cargo carrier and bike rack. The cargo carrier goes in the original opening and the bike rack in the top one. There is just enough space on the carrier under the bike tires to store our camp table, tent & ez-up, about 7". This makes it so much easier when we go camping - we can take our bikes and not have to stuff all the camping gear in the car. The hitch can be flipped so that the additional opening is on the bottom which is great for lifted trucks that need a lower hitch for trailering.

Was looking for something to lower my Jeep hitch for my bike rack as I cannot open the back door (it hits the bike hitch stand). I was looking for something that would not only extend length-wise but also provide a versatile drop/raise option. This was not only sold at a decent price but it is pretty heavy duty. Granted I have only used it for my bike hitch-mounted rack, it seems very sturdy and can likely hold/tow quite a bit of weight. Overall, so far very happy with my purchase and will update here if anything changes otherwise.

Worked perfectly for what I wanted to use it for. I have a hitch basket on a Mazda CX9 that would scrape my driveway as I was pulling out. This riser helped tremendously, the hitch basket no longer scrapes. Product is heavy and sturdy.

We hauled our bike rack with two electric bikes 60 lbs each behind our 5th wheel. Our rack would drag when we went through a small dip. We installed this hitch and it lifted the bike rack up enough to avoid dragging. It is very sturdy and dependable.
