Threads not machined properly. Cannot tighten bolt or nut with fingers. Takes a 15/16 inch wrench to move the bolt or nut. Really poor workmanship.

Just purchased a second one for our spare tire carrier. Have been using one for over 30,000 miles on our Roadmaster tow bar - totally prevents any movement and rattle.

Yep quiet and smooth. With this around the hitch on the car I pulled a custom 4x5 utility trailer behind the car for over 4000 miles. Never once a rattle or bang or any other hitch noise the entire trip. I am planning on buying more for use on other vehicles we own. The only thing about this is that it quiets up the noise and the rattle and jerk of some trailers and makes you wonder if the trailer is still back there. At times on the trip I actually forgot the little trailer was back there. As I said quiet and smooth. Worth the money.

This item arrived with a major burr on the inside of the holder that prevented the bar from slotting in. Required me to file it down, which took some time. A two second check at the factory would have caught this. Thus the three star rating. Otherwise seems pretty sturdy.As an aside, once I got it assembled I found that it didn't fit my 2021 Subaru Outback with dealer-installed receiver, even though Amazon listed it as fitting my model. If you're looking at this be sure that you have enough bumper clearance for it. Returned it and bought another made-in-the USA silencer.

This product is well built and engineered to tight tolerance. It is designed to fit the hitch not your receiver. I have a 2015 Ram with 2.5 class V receiver with 2” hitch with spacer sleeve inherited from my older Ram. I initially ordered the 2.5 but had to return it for the 2”. I did have to grind a weld back 1/4” on the bottom of the square tube on my my drop hitch, and just a fuzz off the bottom of the receiver box for this unit to easily slide into position. However, I really like the way it works. My hitch used to rattle like hell, now it is rock solid.

Overall seems like a solid product. Haven't used it yet but will update its functioning when I do. I will say I'm did not use this for its intended purpose. I have a 2014 ram 2500 with a factory 2.5" receiver hitch. I have a reducer allowing me to use a standard 2" hitch. Since I have a 2.5" hitch I had to grind the bottom of the hitch in order for everything to fit, approximately 1/16" or so. Also I have to modify clamp itself mostly due to the factory welds on my Reese hitch not allowing it to sit flush when installed. Also i had to grind some of the underhitch to allow for the set screw to screw down flat. To keep the nut from rattling loose I added a couple drops of blue thread locker because some people complained about it coming loose.

This is a heavy duty item that takes a loosely fitting trailer/hitch combination and makes it rock solid. I tow a Honda CRV behind my RV using a Blue OX towbar with a 2 inch shaft. The receiver on the RV had some play in the fit of the towbar. Nothing dramatic or unsafe, but the rattle and clunking noises from the loose fit was unnerving when rolling down the road commanding 25,000+ pounds of vehicles. Who needs the added distraction? Not me. I saw this was available from Amazon after reading about these on the RV forums. Bought, delivered and installed, I couldn't be more satisfied. The back of the RV no longer sounds like a boulder is rolling around, and the tight fit eliminates the possibility of wear in the receiver due to the shaft wobbling around. I'm happy, my wife is happy, and the two cats now snooze comfortably while on the road, undisturbed by rattles and knocking of a loose towing connection.
