This review is for the M8 size carabiner. The internal width at the top of the carabiner is 1". The internal width at the bottom is .5". The internal length from top to bottom is 2.5". the gap width when the carabiner is opened is just a bit under .5".I'm pretty sure these are stainless steel because a magnet won't stick to mine along the straight part, but will stick to the curved parts. I researched this and learned "Processes like cold rolling can introduce magnetism in stainless steel by altering its crystal structure."The tooth of the carabiner is somewhat sharp from the machining process, but I have not yet owned a carabiner that was not sharp at that point.These are stout, all of them are lined up and operate normally with no sticking or play where they close. Perfect for my swing set.

These carabiners are the real deal. They have weight and made with strong steel. The spring mechanism is perfect. I was so tired of cheaply made carabiners that were made of inferior materials and that did not last. I am very glad I ordered these, I will purchase more of them, and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a strong quality carabiners.
