This is a simple, yet solid and sturdy latch. You can feel the quality of the smooth glide of the hinge as it has a subtle click when twisting the latch up and down from vertical to horizontal position so it doesn’t just freely swivel around loosely or floppy. It’s versatile so there’s flexibility with using it in a 90 degree application or flat at 180 degrees, and you wouldn’t have to buy another latch if you decide to use it later on for something else. I’m using it as a 90 degree latch for my sliding closet door to keep my cats from getting into my closet! Would work great for kids or other pets. There’s about a 1/4” or less of forgiveness for placement to twist the lock down into the groove of the other piece, so make sure there the cabinet/door meets flush with wall/door jamb and doesn’t have to big of a gap. It’s inexpensive and totally worth the pocket change.

Excellent lock for a sliding door or a barn door. I do wish they came with black screws to match the lock. The silver screws look a little incorrect and will need to be replaced.

This 90 degree latch/lock is perfect for anyone with an accordion door. We have an accordion style door at the bottom of our stairs in our finished basement. I have been looking for a while for a solution to be able to lock the door so our cat could not get down there. Since the door is a thick plastic material I couldn’t put a normal lock on it the door would not support anything heavy. I found this latch and it was perfect! It’s small and nice and light in terms of weight. I was able to screw the latch into the trim and the catch side I screwed into the door and used E6000 adhesive to get a nice strong grip. So far the lock has held against our cat, dogs and bunnies trying to either push on the door to get up or down. I finally have some piece of mind knowing my pets won’t tear each other apart when I’m not home.
