Was replacing another one from 5 years ago which broke. I can say the way it came packed was awesome. Came in a plastic case and very well made, where the other one broke this one I can tell is built with quality it has a bigger pin in the top so I'm sure it will last longer. It functions awesome and very smooth to unlock. I love these and feel protected when they are engaged. We purchased these when my son was born so he couldn't open the doors and it's over exceeded my expectations as he is 6 now and still unable to reach them so he's safe in the house. These are a great value and will for sure be replacing the front door with this one.

I'm amazed by how strong these types of door locks are for the price. This is my second such lock, having been impressed by the convenience and solid build of the first lock I installed on my front door. Easy to latch and unlatch, I plan to install one of these on every exterior door of my rental unit as these are easy to remove when moving. Comes with five sturdy screws as well as a double-headed Phillips driver. Highly recommended if you want peace of mind when home.

I am super happy with this lock for our doors. I am a renter and did not want to hazard as a novice trying to install some chain-lock for security that would require me to drill into the door itself and possibly damage it. This solution only requires you to drill into the door frame with the included screws. Like others, I will probably be swapping out these shorter ones later on for some longer framing screws that could hold up to more abuse. While I do not believe this lock will keep out a motivated burglar, it would still create enough of a delay and noise for our dog to be alerted and for us to be able to call the police or implement other security tactics for the family. Furthermore, it is perfect for our toddler, who has started curiously grabbing at the locks and handles of doors. With this installed, we can be assured that she is not going to accidentally get out of the house and get hurt or worse. Everything feels high-quality hardware-wise; I even went outside with my wife inside and did some really rough shoving and pounding on the door, and it held up to it without budging. 5 out of 5 stars for sure!

I recently tried the Childproof Door Lock, Extra Security Reinforcement Lock for Front Door, and it was disappointing. Despite the claim of withstanding 800lbs of force, the lock feels lightweight and flimsy. The "durable alloy" seems more like aluminum and doesn't inspire confidence in its sturdiness.The finish is brushed, not the matte finish advertised, and mine arrived with scratches and black marks. While it might work as a child lock, I wouldn't trust it for security due to its weak construction and short screws. Overall, it falls far short of expectations.

Simple latch that seems to work as stated. Relatively easy to install but kinda depends on your door, door frame and door trim. Not overly HD but will slow down someone from kicking to door in. Worked well for my needs.

The only hard part was that I had to chisel out a section to mount this because my door fits so tightly in the frame. This was easy to install. It is built solid. I've tested it and it really works. Gives me the extra bit of security that I was looking for. We all need a bit of extra security these days.
