The lock is too short for a normal door, it has to be installed right at the edge of the door in order to work, which visually is now misaligned to the door knob. The photo is misleading, the metal piece that connects the two plates is not included. No hardware store carry’s that metal piece, we ended up finding a cotter pin that had the right width that we flattened out and cut to size. The next issue was on the inside. We would have either had to cut a hole into our door frame for the bolt to latch, or mounted the bolt turn piece into a scrap piece of wood to raise it up so it’s on the same level as our trim, and then it would be on the same level as our trim and install the latch on the trim. So silly. DOES NOT WORK FOR NORMAL DOORS. It is also very hard to turn. Visually on the door is it very small. Hard to see/read from a distance. Our door is 36” wide.
