Product Description

Attach securely? Of course! But where? Many locks make it possible to attach a bike to a fixed point, to provide better protection against theft. Unfortunately, there are not always strong objects available to which they can be attached. ABUS offers various anchoring solutions that provide a very strong fixing on the floor or wall of your property. These high-quality security solutions provide a point of attachment that is just as strong as the lock itself.

From the Manufacturer

The WBA-100 floor anchor is constructed from a high quality plastic, which is so strong a vehicle can be driven over it without breaking or cracking. This feature coupled with a .63" diameter hardened steel shackle makes this the most durable floor anchor design available. The extra wide shackle base allows for easy locking and unlocking and can fit almost any type of chain or padlock. All mounting hardware is included.

OK, this is the One you want. Yes, is more expensive than some of the others 'similar' versions, But the dia of the ring is a most awesome piece of metal engineering, and reason is more expensive, that and it's German made. The directions are made for the EU and elsewhere (all metric) but for us Imperial users this is not hard to convert. Bit of advice that I gleened on this model and some of the others similar to this.1. Have to cough of the $ and buy a dedicated 16mm SDS plus or Max bit .. I bought a 16mm fm Amazon UK ... don't try to wing it with a imperial size bit.2. Use a 5/16 or 8mm or 9mm SDS plus bit as a pilot hole. Then bore out with 16mm.3. Your centers to drill have to be spot on, hence the importance of using a pilot hole of smaller dia. bit, so limits the drifting4. Tape off the bit at to stop at 3.55" depth.. or 90mm5. Was not in instructions but took it a step further and used a concrete/liquid nails adhesive and squirted a bunch in each hole then tapped in the countersink, 24 hr cure time.6. Use a heavy hammer, ie: 2lbs or greater to really give a wack to those bb's covering the screwheads. If use a lighter one, can bounce off and lost or hit in face.Never thought be so pumped about a bike/motocycle anti-theft device, but this is a winner.

This is a very excellent product. You will need a 4” long or longer 5/8” masonry bit to drill four holes in the concrete. The anchors are extremely solid and hold very tight. Make sure to torque to 20nm for maximum effect. I do not see this getting ripped out of the ground.

The hardware are metric hardware that are impossible to source. One of the female threads on the anchor bolts was not machined correctly. The result is one anchor that did not torque. I could not find a similar anchor piece anywhere. I contacted ABUS and they responded faster than I expected but it is obvious that they do not want to right the wrong. They attempted to send me to various local stores that can not help. They are ignorant of local resources because they are not in the US. The correct thing to do is to replace the hardware ( all of them) with new hardware.

Had a friend with a concrete drill install this in my inner city underground parking garage that gets broken into by dirt**** on a regular basis. They have pilfered vehicles, busted open storage lockers, and once taken the cover off my bike (I guess to check it out). Although it's a highly sellable dirt/street bike (which could just not be registered once stolen and ridden around the countryside) they've never came back and tried for it. I suspect because it's chained to the floor on this anchor with a New York Noose chain and a 9 rated Kryptonite lock on this massive anchor. I'm sure you could cut the anchor or the chain with an angle grinder, but that would take long, super noisy minutes in a residential building.... So far, so good.

Very difficult installation. Anchor are of poor quality - the consist of two parts and fall apart easily. Drill bit is not included and if you try 5/8" (which you'll have to buy) , you'll find the hole is too small - need to spend lots of time drilling it out. If I knew, I would go with Kryptonite which includes drill bit. Once installed, looks good.

Only one of the anchors would catch. Went to hardware to purchase new ones. Took one of the originals with me, store clerk immediately said no one uses that type anymore because they are known to be trash.

If you are not pretty handy, hire a handyman or a contractor to get this anchor loop installed. The steel loop and anchor plate system are very robust and any thief will attack the bike's chain long before they go after trying to bust this anchor. Installing the anchor bolts is a little tricky. You need a big hammer drill to get the 16mm (5/8") holes drilled. Then you will find that the anchor plate has no fudge factor room for holes drilled slightly off the mark. Anyone that has drilled into concrete knows it is very difficult to drill holes perfectly on the mark, so the design of the anchor plate should factory the holes might be slightly off. (By "off", I mean by a 1/16" or a millimeter or two.) Once you get the holes drilled to proper depth, you can tap the anchors into place. It can be hard to get the threaded wedge at the bottom of the anchor to stop spinning when you thread the bolts in, but once the bolt is slightly threaded in, you can pull up firmly on the bolts to get the anchor wedge to stop spinning and then the bolt will snug up. Once installed, this anchor is a beast.

If you are looking for a very sturdy, permanent ground anchor to keep your valuable possessions secure and allow you to sleep soundly at night, then this is the lock for you! I purchased this anchor after thwarting the theft of a Vespa scooter from my front driveway by two men who were attempting to lift and carry it away. The lock's base is secured to the cement by four 16mm anchors which I recommend you rent a rotary hammer drill with a cement bit to install if you're not hiring a professional. I used the ABUS WBA 100 with the Kryptonite New York chain and lock to secure the scooter. This is a great price for the security this floor anchor provides and has exceeded my expectations..

Super strong anchor, im a Carpenter so the install was easy for me I have done a lot of work similar to the install , but i can see how it could be difficult for someone who does not have the skill or the tools to do it, with that being said it is pretty easy to install. I purchased it for my Motorcycle i believe that i couldn't have spent my money on anything better than this anchor. Please buy.

Good kit. Install was a bit tricky... need to drill holes for concrete screws in exact positions to enable correct fit. Nice to have such a large shank to thread chain through. I'm also using Abus Bordo folding locks.

eexcccccelent. Seriously heavy duty both in mounting and construction. Put one of these and an Abus chain with matching motorcycle W lock at each end of my Duc. The pros can still get through but this is the toughest set-up I have been able to find. (Been riding since 1966 so I have tried a lot of locks.)
