works great an does what it says..on an old porter 18v as we speak...its ok to run the 20v lithioum dewalt battery on it..

This adapter works well, though I was having some initial issues with it sliding in which (thankfully) resolved with a little elbow grease. It's no frills, just functionality. It fits snugly and has saved me from having to replace older tools I still love. Just keep in mind it doesn’t *charge* the battery, but for using DeWalt 20V batteries with Porter Cable 18V tools, it gets the job done.

It's a little snug, but once you slide it onto the bottom of the PC tool, it accepts 20V Max batteries, and man! Does that wake them up!You don't realize how much nicer lithium is over NiCd!These porter cable tools have had a second life already, now they're just starting their 3rd!

Had several Porter Cable tools but the batteries were shot. This adapter fits my Dewalt batteries. The adapter fit both the batteries and tools well. All the tools worked the same as with the original batteries. Only difference is the adapter makes the tools a little taller. It is plastic so weight isn't an issue. Definitely recommend this if you have Porter tools and Dewalt batteries. This allows you to put them together.

I love my Porter Cable tools but have accumulated DIFFERENT Dewalt tools and lots of Dewalt 20V batteries over the last few years. Since my P-C tools and their batteries are older, I expect the batteries to fail before my Dewalt batts fail. This adapter will allow me to continue using the P-C tools even after their batteries die. I briefly tried the adapter with a P-C work light and reciprocating saw connected to a Dewalt battery and everything worked flawlessly. Adding the adapter changes the weight balance of the tool a little bit, but that’s not a deal-breaker.My only concern is that the adapter appears to be made from fairly cheap components. It’s almost all plastic and the plastic seems to be the brittle kind that would break if dropped. The battery release button seems to bind a little, too. I’m skeptical of how much abuse the adapter can take and still function. I really hope it lasts. It’s extending the life of my P-C tools and I really appreciate that.

Tolerances are too tight and its VERY HARD (almost impossible) to remove it from the Dewalt battery. It works with Portar cable well, but its stock on the Dewalt. You have to bang it on the table to remove the battery.
