Does the job, but needs to be handled delicately. Fit it, and leave it. I switch off the mains supply to the adapter when not in use to avoid any possibility of overheating.

The dummy cells are a bit longer (about 1mm) than a real AAA battery. Make sure that your device has enough room (long springs) before ordering.

The wire is a bit thicker than expected, but if is was, it might be cut easily. worked perfectly for multiple applications.

Using this to power one of those ceramic Christmas trees - normally runs on 2 AAA batteries. Popped this thing in with the one "live" cell and one "dummy" cell, set voltage to 3V, and the tree lights up as expected. However, after some random number of hours, it turns off. Toggling the power switch has no effect. The only way to bring it back to life is to remove the fake "batteries" and put them back in again.

This Adjustable Battery Eliminator is perfect for powering devices requiring multiple AAA-sized batteries. I am currently using it in a label-maker requiring 6 batteries and works perfectly. Just be certain to correctly match the output voltage selector on the back of the [plug-in] A/C transformer to the number of batteries you are replacing.

I've used this for a few purposes, but I bought it mainly to power a fancy japanese label maker that eats through AAA batteries like crazy. It works great and the "batteries" fit very snugly in the slots. I especially appreciate that you can change the voltage, since some of my devices specify 3V while others require 6V; I also used a multimeter to confirm that it outputs the voltage it says it does.
