This review is for the AK Unisex Classic Leather Full Grain Equestrian Horse Riding Half Chaps AKRS-1979. (Black XL)I love these! Back in the day I would have used them when I had horses. I grabbed these to use with renfaire/cosplay outfits. They high quality, very well made. Great materials with the real full grain and suede leathers, good stitching throughout, high quality YKK zipper, great attention to details, has eleastic strap to go under sole of your boots/shoes to help hold them in place.... inner leg suede panels will help with grip if riding.I'm a short 5 foot tall woman with a 28 inch inseam and I don't have fat calves. Even when I was so active with the horses and muscled I've never had an issue with boots being too small in the calves. So their size chart would have been nice, but I don't recall it being posted when I ordered these, so I guessed at the size and they'll be fine as I'll be wearing then over leggings/pants. I would even wear these for modern day wear for the right outfit. These are nice and I really like them. I wanted this more plain set due to how I'll be using them. Regular price $61.99 per the listing may seem high, but good quality real leather english riding gear is expensive. And I know I've seen similar ones in the big tackshops for higher price. As always I only do honest reviews and update when needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.

These leather half chaps are elegantly crafted from soft, buttery leather, with a grippy suede panel on the inside. They look and feel high-quality, but are difficult to fit from the size chart. I followed all directions and landed on size XXL - which sounded like it was going to be too large for my athletic 5.9 frame, but given that I am tall with larger calves, I figured it would be fine. Unfortunately, while they do fit well height wise, they are too baggy all around. I easily could have gone down one size in circumference, maybe two, but then, according to the size chart, they likely would have been too short. I would recommend buying in two sizes to try.
