This rod works pretty good for a lightweight curtain. I have a shower curtain on it for a door, and it took some adjusting, but I got it in place, and it is working well.

I’ve used several extension rods over the years. This one looks attractive, but is not as effective. The end rubber stoppers tend to slide on the wood. The place where the two sides meet are stiff, and I hardly can move it inward to fit into the space. It’s very stiff. The joint where it meets has a collar that doesn’t do anything productive. However, this is where the rod twists to add length.The joint where it meets overlaps about an inch and slides out very easily.I ended up going down to Home Depot and got some extension rods to do the job better.

Using it to hang some light bottles under the sink. Tried to add some heavier ones but it fell. Rotate the small rod counter clock-wise to extend and clockwise to compress. Not bad but not good for anything heavier than a few lbs.

So I am a fan of tension rods. However I was not prepared for this one. It feels like something I would get from the dollar store. The inner rod is ok but the outer one is really loose around the inner one, making the curtains get caught constantly in the space where the metal curls around to make the rod. It is also loose fitting with a lot of wiggle room. This is definitely not meant for a curtain that will be opened or closed much. It is easy to use, twist to a bit bigger than the window, squish together, and release in the frame.
