I installed a 5-ton heat pump in 2011 during a house remodel. The OEM Chinese-sourced capacitor that came with the unit failed in Texas heat after 12 months. My HVAC contractor replaced the original capacitor with one of these. It lasted 12 years. So, I bought another one. They cost more than cheaper units, but their longevity and reliability more than offset the initial cost. I also avoided a $500 service call by doing it myself. Best of all, still Made in America.

I have a ton of rental properties and these are so handy to have on stock in case there is a failure at one of my rental properties. I can just pop this in and either leave it or replace it later with a cheaper replacement.

I had a previous version of this capacitor in my outdoor A/C unit. I was able to replace the old capacitor with this one and now my very old A/C unit is running again. The new capacitor has the posts in slightly different locations and so you need to be sure to move the wires to the appropriate posts on the new one. Also the new capacitor is a little bigger than the old one in cylinder diameter, meaning that the mounting bracket no longer works as intended. Great to have the A/C running.

We had the same capacitor in our condenser. Just had to transfer the wires one by one. Our old one went out after a mouse walked across the top. I had never worked on these before and it was pretty easy. Just make sure the power is off to the condenser and thermostat. Will update if it stops working.
