Handle is metal, lever is metal, not plastic, it is the correct part for the make and model of toilet.

I believe the guy who installed my toilet broke the handle. Or, to be more precise, he broke both the tube and the nut that hold the handle in the tank. As a result, the handle was "funky" right from the beginning. I finally checked it, and found the nylon nut inside the tank was split completely in half. When the new nut arrived and I started to reassemble the mechanism, I found the threaded tube was also broken. Boogers. So, I ordered the entire assembly, installed it with almost no effort, and it works perfectly - better than it ever did! So, I'm a really happy guy.
