About this item

  • A highly-versatile 1080p/2MP digital microscope with a small footprint perfect for labs, workshops, schools, and more
  • 0.11X-0.79X optical magnification translates to 10.5X-75X on a 24" monitor, making it ideal for micro-soldering, electronics repair, machining, culturing, and a wide range of other applications
  • With a sturdy 7"x11" base and 11" triple-jointed articulating arm, the stand acts like a third hand allowing you to position the microscope at virtually any angle
  • Dual LED ringlights provide diffuse and high-contrast lighting with independent controls to find the perfect balance

The UHM210-11 brings a new level of versatility to real-time imaging. This all-in-one digital microscope can be used as a standalone imaging system, or with your PC to view live microscopic images with the ability to record video and photos. Equipped with an 11” articulating arm, dual ring lights, and variable focal length, this microscope can be the perfect tool for laboratories, production lines, and repair stations. Optics The internal focusing system uses variable focal length to change both the magnification and working distance. At its lowest position, the microscope produces its maximum magnification. As the microscope’s height is increased, the magnification decreases to provide a larger field of view -- up to 52mm x 29.4mm with the arm fully extended. The final magnification of the displayed image is determined by the size of the monitor being used, as can be seen in the table below. Monitor Size 12.5" 21" 24" 32" 5.5X-39X 9.2X-66X 10.5X-75X 14X-100X Display and Recording The UHM series digital microscopes are designed to function as stand-alone imaging systems, or with a PC to capture high-quality photos and videos. A mini-HDMI connector allows you to display live 1080p images on a digital monitor or television, using the microscope’s internal software to control resolution, exposure, white-balance, and more. Photos and videos are recorded directly to MicroSD media in standard JPG and MOV formats. The microscope can also be used with your PC via USB. The included software allows you to capture photos and videos to your computer, and provides basic image processing, editing and measurement tools. 11" Articulating Arm Stand With a 7” x 11” footprint, the microscope is ideal for any workspace. The triple-joint 11” articulating arm allows you to quickly adjust the microscope’s height and angle, and uses a single locking knob to secure its position. The flexibility of the arm allows you to view objects from any angle. Illumination The highly flexible illumination system uses dual LED ring lights to ensure every detail is captured. The outer ring produces diffuse lighting for general use, while the inner ring brings out finer detail in textures. Independent brightness controls allow you to fine-tune the lighting to suit your needs. Contents One digital microscope on articulating arm stand One HDMI cable One USB cable One AC/DC USB power adapter

We have one of these at work and I have to say I am super impressed with the quality and ease of use of this little guy. Just take a look at the pic of my fingernail with zero digital zoom. We use it for quality inspections on stainless fittings in the aerospace industry. Ignore the reviewer that purchased this for documents. Purchasing a product like this for that use in itself is rediculous.

We bought this to use as a enlarger for documents and the way one would have to adjust it is ridiculous

These work very well and provide a very crisp image. The software works flawlessly with windows, so that I can either use the camera software or the windows camera app. The camera app is honestly more useful than the software that comes with the camera. This is how I would recommend to use it.

I am satisfied with this microscope. I believe the magnification can go up to 75x’s. I have no previous experience with microscopes, and got this to read small print on coins and jewelry. The lights are great. One light is more diffused, and is apparently for more shiny objects. The other, more direct light is for what I assume more matte objects. A great deal of the magnification has to do with how far the came is from the object, since the arm can move quite high. Speaking of the arm, it only uses one knob for both lateral and height adjustments. I thought that was neat and cleverly designed. The base is solid yet elegant. If I could offer any cons, they would have to do with the placement of the power and hdmi ports. It would probably cause the movement of the arm to suffer, but it would be awesome if those ports were in the base, somewhere towards the back possibly. This would probably require the cords to be fed through the arm. I am no engineer, just stating an observation from a beginner.I think what drew me to this microscope was that it doesn’t seem necessarily marketed to beginners. It would be a great device for beginners, but nothing about it shouts “beginner”. It is straightforward, with zero frills. It’s simply a microscope. The finish is nice. I would say the price is a bit steep for what you get, but it seems like a solid piece of kit. I hope it lasts forever and I can entertain my curiosity for years to come with it.Oh, and I bought this to read tiny print on coins a d jewelry, BUT, I took a look at my finger and holy moly…I got grossed out! You can see all of the blood vessels with detail on one side, and my fingerprints looked like rivers of blood. It was a reminder to me that we are very bloody creatures. Cool to see, but I’ll stick to looking at coins!Edit: After using this microscope for a little while, my original opinions still hold. One caveat: there is no software for this scope for Mac users. Easy work around was to purchase an El Gato Cam Link. With that tool, your Mac will recognize the microscope as a webcam. You can then use Quicktime, iMovie, or Photo Booth with the microscope. There are cheaper HDMI capture cards on the market, if you don't want to spend on the El Gato.Happy microscoping!
