My fan has FAN-9T on the back. My pins are set correctly. I ordered 3 remotes so I did I doubt I have defective units. All 3 remotes from this amazon listing did not work.I ordered a different remote from amazon, one that was not available with free shipping, and it works. Shame all 3 of these will have to go back and I will have to order the more expensive remotes if I want to have a backup replacement.

This replaced the original remote for my Hampton Bay fan with no issues. My remote model didn’t have the exact model name referenced in the description, but it did have the forward and reverse function. After setting the new remote to have the same DIP code as the old remote, fan and remote worked together perfectly. I appreciate the inclusion of the wall mount, previous owners tossed the original but this should help prevent the new remote from getting damaged.

I just set the little levers inside the same as my old remote and it worked. A triumph for someone like me!

My Hamilton Bay Windward II 3-speed ceiling fan and light stopped working, turns out the remote control was faulty, new batteries and cleaning the pushbuttons’ contacts did not revive it.So I searched for a replacement remote, and it was a bit more complicated than I expected. There are several versions of these remotes, they all look basically identical unless you pay careful attention. Many of them have a “fan timer” button where mine is a “for/rev” button (the Windward II fan can reverse direction and push air downward or upward), while others have a light dimmer (mine doesn’t, and it uses a ring-shaped fluorescent bulb), which isn’t dimmable. Also my light on/off button is green, but some remotes have a yellow button instead, and I read somewhere the difference is significant, not cosmetic. So buying the correct remote control is needed to ensure total compatibility.I found this one, even though it has an “Anderic” logo rather than “Hamilton Bay”, it does have the same model # FAN-9T.After setting the DIP switch to match my old remote and installing batteries, I’m happy to find that this remote works is compatible with my Windward II. All functions work perfectly as expected.I had dreaded having to replace the whole fan, because I really like the styling of the Windward II, and changing out the whole thing would cost a lot more money and be a bunch of work. Well, that wasn’t necessary, as this inexpensive replacement remote control saved the day!

Old fan had a remote where the battery connector corroded. I had no idea if this would work since the fan was over 10 years old. I put batteries in it, changed the code in the battery compartment to the one on my current remote and tada it worked! Very happy! We can use our fan properly again!

Works great, however, there is a but, it only works well if you also replace the receiver unit for one of the same brand. It states that it is a replacement for a Hampton Bay remote but it really does not work with the Hampton's original equipment. Once I purchased their receiver, I have my old beautiful and powerful fan back on.
