The add doesn't say witch model fan that the remote works with. So it is definitely part my fault. And of course it doesn't work with my fan. Seller needs to indicate which remote works with witch fan. Waste of money.

This seems ok, and might very well work with some Casablanca fans, but I got this to try to make use of the fans in my new-to-me 30 year old house. The fans are 18' up in the air so I can't easily get to them to program a remote, and the previous owners lost the remotes, so I have useless fans until I find a solution. I was hoping this remote would auto-pair, but no luck. Probably not the remote's fault, but if you're hoping to use it with a very old Casablanca of unknown model number, probably won't work. If it did work I might still only give it 4 stars because the build quality is so-so.

First of all, this remote does work as promised. The only problem is that it DOES have to be paired, and the pairing instructions are woefully inadequate. The pairing button is buried, deep within the battery compartment, between the two batteries. You have to push it with some kind of thin object. I used the shaft from a Q tip. If you don't find the button, you will not be able to pair the remote. But I was able to handle that with little difficulty, and it now works perfectly well. This is a FAR better value than paying for a brand name remote.

Works and easy to set up. The only drawback was the reset button which is between the batteries. Not easy to find but there was a little label on the packing that showed with a little arrow wherei it was. Not exactly like the original but it does what it is suppose to do.
