Will hold a lot of sockets! I only use this for my 1/4 and 3/8ths. It'd carry the 1/2s but would be heavy. The deep barrels will generally stay put vertical, but if you carry it that way just be aware if you hit your leg or whatever, you're going to be chasing little rolly things across the concrete!

Nice quality with an aluminum body and the socket snaps work well.

Just great for universals, square drive bit sockets, adapters, etc.All I'm going to say is that I don't have deep enough pockets for VIM mag rails, but this is effectively the same thing. It's vastly more economical, can pack an incredibly high density of tools, and has adequate tool holding power from the magnets. VIM rails would be much stronger. These do the trick. I wouldn't treat this tray as a mobile item, though; I think it's best stationary in a tool cart/cabinet.They lose a star for not including *nearly* enough studs for the potential. They include 36, with 12x each of 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive. I currently have 63 items on my rack/tray, mostly in 1/4 and 3/8 drive, with a little bit more room to spare. But, I found that VIM studs are compatible, and look *almost* identical to these, so sourced some of those to complete my setup. One of the maybe top 3 best additions to my tool cart organization. I bought 2 of them.

Let’s start off I bought this with my own money so the absolute hype I’m giving off is my own. So I recently learned about mag rails by vim. Well those get expensive fast. These are essentially that with the bonus of being five wide. They should send more nubs but you can find them separate so no biggie. Needless to say the adjustability, price and quality make this 5/5 and I’ll be back for more. My Snap On Epiq is gonna be stacked with these things!!

magnet is very weak-- was hoping that the socket will stay on it better---- better spent a little more and get the one from VIM tools.

I was skeptical about ordering this for my large impact sockets, but it holds like a champ. 1/2" drive sockets. I can fit 12 on the 16.5" strip. My impact sockets range from 10mm to 32mm. The magnet is very strong. The slide is aluminum and there is a felt covering on the bottom. Those 12 sockets and slide weight about 8 Lbs. I was very surprised to see it hold. You need 2 hands to pull the strip off the metal. 10/0 would recommend to a friend. The pics do no justice. This thing is sexy.

Absolutely the best magnetic socket organizer you can purchase, without question (and I, unfortunately, had purchased several other brands and even glued magnets to the back of other socket organizers, and none were even in the ballpark of the quality of this company's products. I ended up buying the five (5) more for my 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2" sockets (one for metric, one for standard, per drive size). I will add pics later if possible.Save your time and money shopping around (take advantage of the time & money I wasted before I discovered this company's socket organizers). One additional benefit is that if you need to add an extra socket mount/post to a rail, you can purchase a bag of same for not very much.Again, save your time and money shopping around or trying to make your own "magnetic" socket organizers. You will not be disappointed, I assure you (and if you are, let me know - educating novice knuckleheads is hobby of mine).

The build quality on these is great, and I like that the back is soft lined so that you're not scratching up whatever surface you're attaching to. The magnets are nice and strong - it takes a decent amount of effort to move these around once they are on.You can typically fit more sockets than the clips that this comes with. ARES does sell extra clips and they aren't all that expensive, but I kind of wish they were just included. One thing I've noticed with these is that even if you have sockets with high visibility markings it can be difficult to see them if they are installed on these rails. With this model the clips do not freely rotate so you have limited ability to line your labels up facing a certain direction, so I stuck some photo paper with labels behind the organizer so that I can easily spot things. It would be great if ARES could help come up with some solution for this.

Great product. Hold sockets securely in tool box and yet the sockets are easy to remove. Would purchase again.

I bought these to keep my sockets (purchased in their own hinged plastic box many years ago) from spilling out on the floor every time I need one. I balked at the price at first, but ultimately could not find anything cheaper that looked as well-made. This is a great product: solidly built, does exactly what it promises, and looks great, too! They fit in my toolbox drawer, and the magnetic base will keep them in place. Definitely worth the money!
