I tried it a few times. It would not stay in place no mater what I tried. Very poor design, but it is soft. Don't waste your money on this one. Get a better design.

after a procedure that required i keep my arm still for a week or so, i got one of these. previous ones i've seen are non-padded nylon straps, and not particularly comfortable. this is a soft, lightweight material about 2.5" wide that sticks tenaciously to the supplied velcro connectors. it's very comfortable, and lets your shoulder and chest muscles relax. fast and easy to put on / take off. be SURE to put the strap from around your forearm UNDER your arm, up your back and over the opposite shoulder. it does a great job!

This sling just came today, and I've only had it on for about 20 to 30 minutes so far. And all I can say is I wish that I had had something like this when I walked out of the emergency room a few days ago . Even with me fumbling through the directions and probably doing it all bass ackwards it was easy to put on and adjust to be very comfortable within 30 seconds. And my wrist and arm feels so much better now with this support that, as I said I wished I had had one when I walked out of the ER. The entire length of the sling is a very comfortable soft cushioned fabric, the Velcro attachments are very strong . I couldn't be more comfortable with a broken wrist than I am right now.

This product is WONDERFUL! Very lightweight, soft, does not chafe my neck like a regular sling, provides enough support, and inexpensive! I would have given it a full 5 stars, but the instructions are awkward and unclear. Turns out, it was simple for one person to do with only one good arm. Strongly recommend they spend a few bucks on a better copy writer.

This worked awesome for about a week until the Velcro stopped holding well and the Velcro was very rough on my inner arm. If that issue could be fixed this would be a 5 star product.

UPDATE (2 years later): messed up my shoulder again and started using the sling again. Just as comfortable and useful as the first time. I forgot that it also reduces shoulder soreness, vs letting your arm dangle at your side. Some of the other reviewers stated that they liked this sling better than the "medical grade" one they were given after a medical procedure. This was hard to believe since this product is so simple and low cost, but I decided to give it a try anyway. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that it supported my arm nearly as well as the one I got after my shoulder surgery, while being much more comfortable. It's fleece, vs. the nylon-like material of the medical one, and easier to put on and take off. It looks and works exactly like the photos on the product page. The velcro is very secure but also easy to reposition for a custom fit (you don't actually have to cut it to size). Because it only supports your arm in two places it may not be appropriate to use this sling if you have a more serious medical issue (mine was a minor elbow sprain) - may be a good idea to ask a doctor or nurse first. It's also a lint magnet in the dryer and the fabric looks like it will get pretty worn-looking after a few washes. Overall, one of my best recent purchases on Amazon.

I fractured my shoulder in the summer and a regular sling was just too hot. I found this online and thought I'd give it a try. The initial fitting is a little confusing because the instructions didn't seem clear (this is the reason for the 4/5 stars in "easy to use" category). However, once it was on, I was amazed at how comfortable it was. I was dumbfounded as how easy this idea was but yet so clever; even my Orthopedist was surprised at the concept. This was much cooler (temperature) than the classic sling that supports your complete arm.I washed it in a mesh bag after I removed the "Y" velcro and hung it up to dry. It help up really well.I would highly recommend this product.

My wife, who ordered this after rotator cuff surgery, says:I ordered this when I was about eight weeks past surgery. The padded sling they gave me at the hospital was great, but I don’t need that kind of support anymore. Other slings I’ve tried in the low-cost range have been worthless. You can’t even keep your elbow in them, and the straps are very irritating. This is so simple, the strap is soft and by far the most comfortable of any sling I have worn. I’m a professional singer, and the drag of other slings’ straps against one side of my neck has added “voice recovery” to the healing list. This strap doesn’t bind, and is wide enough that it distributes the weight of the arm better.I just received it, but I know it’s going to work fine for me. I also like the flexibility of being able to use a second, balanced positioning of it.While that doesn’t show up in the pictures in the instructions, it’s here in the photos on Amazon. Not sure why the lack of English instructions cause a problem. Nope, I don’t speak Chinese. But there are little illustrations that were easy to understand. It provides a very nice level of support, once you no longer need the padded spacer and heavier construction of a hospital-type sling. I don’t necessarily suggest it in an early stage of shoulder healing, where you need to be surrounded by support, and a spacer pad between forearm and ribcage is important for blood flow in healing the shoulder. Since at this point I don’t have to be immobilized or need a waist strap, it’s very easy to slip partway out of it to do the things with my forearm and hand that are OK at this stage.I hope this is helpful to others. I just love this clever little thing.

I have a severe, and on-going shoulder injury, actually I have just had major surgery involving screws and plate. I have to wear a sling 24/7 for around 8 weeks. The NHS provided me with an excellent sling, and I bought another similar full sling of amazon as a spare. The reason I went in to purchase this one was the hot weather, as it is cooler to wear ,easy to use as supportive and comfortable. And as it is basically a soft Velcro strap it is also more discrete if I am going out somewhere and wanting to wear a smarter outfit for the evening
