I have owned 5 other retractable dog leashes. I fully charged it before reviewing. I’ve used this leash for a week now and it hasn’t gotten caught up/snarled yet. The retracting coil spools out smooth and silent. This leash uses the same button for pause and lock. Push the button down for pause, slide the button up to lock. Unlike some, it is easy to lock and release with just the thumb. But as long as the dog is pulling on the leash, it can neither be unlocked or unpaused; the strap pressure must be released first. The handle is comfortable to grip but big and leash heavy because of the internal battery light. The size prevents it from being stuffed in a pocket or chest pack. The clasp is heavier duty than any other I’ve seen. The bag dispenser clicks into place but can still be removed. It takes standard sized rolls. When the dispenser is attached, the leash can be stood up on its end. The light is bright enough to illuminate items on the ground. I wish it could be activated by the hand holding the handle, but the button it too far away so a second hand must be used. It provides a QR code to an “extended warranty”, but no initial warranty is provided. I registered anyway and was given no date period or any details about a warranty, so it’s not clear that it does anything more than add my name to an email list. Registering did provide a direct contact email address. It is a good general purpose leash and I like it. It is my daily-use leash now, but for jogging look for a smaller, lighter one. While pricier than most, you get top quality with a rechargeable light, which makes it a fair value.

This feels like a quality leash. I was a bit confused that the description said for dogs up to 110 pounds but one of the photos said for dogs up to 44 pounds. But I needed a new retractable leash, since my other retractable leash is nearly worn out after only one year of use. I have an 11 pound mini dachshund. This leash is heavy duty compared to what I’ve been using. The housing is only slightly larger than my other leash, but this leash is heavier and feels stronger. Plus, there is more space in the handle, which makes it so much easier to hand her off to my husband when needed. Pull out and retraction are smooth. The lock button slides forward to lock, back to release, similar to other designs. It’s comfortable to hold and I can feel the stronger tension compared to the Flexi Lead (for small dogs). Still, the tension is not too strong for my small dog. She acts like she doesn’t even notice the difference. The light not as bright as I hoped, but is sufficient to see the dog in the dark, especially those middle of the night emergency potty breaks when my eyes are already accustomed to the dark. I like this leash, but the real test is the test of time. How will this leash hold up over the coming months/years? I hope to get more out of this one than my other leash. I’ll be back to update my review if/when any issues develop with this leash.

I recently received a retractable dog leash that combines several convenient features into one design. It includes a built-in USB rechargeable flashlight which is handy and a waste bag dispenser. It's heavy duty which supports my German Shepherd who's about 75lbs. The flashlight is bright enough for night walks, and the angle free design allows for smooth movement from any angle since my dog is always doing twirls when we walk. The one hand brake and lock system is responsive, making it easy to control the leash length. The ergonomic anti slip handle provides a comfortable grip, even in wet conditions. Already had to replace it! It wouldn’t maintain its ability to quickly retract I had to keep messing with it to get it to roll up.

Not really a downside to this product, it’s super sturdy, easy to use and convenient. The flashlight isn’t gonna be a helicopter spotlight but it works pretty well for night. The cable is stitched and retracts smoothly back in, able to lock it and unlock as needed. I was surprised at how smooth the collar clip is, it’s somehow absolute BUTTER, at least compared to another one I had gotten from the store. Trashbag holder is just that, trash bag holder, works well and convenient for walks. Mine came with trash bags provided, unsure if that will be everyone’s case but was for sure nice to see. 5 stars!! I was a ‘traditional’ leash guy forever. Until I had the opportunity to try this leash. I’ll try anything twice. I had no idea what we were missing. This Retractable leash is a game changer for our relationship. My dog can now walk around without dragging me around with her. We both are so much more happy.This leash looks great. Very modern look. It’s not heavy or to light. It feels ‘sturdy’.The poop bag holder is a big bonus.I have big hands and my hand fits comfortably on the handle. It’s well balanced. The locking button works flawlessly. 1 push and hold to lock and then release the button to unlock. OR you can slide the button down and let go of the button and it stays locked. Swipe up and it unlocks again.The instructions recommended that your dog be 44 lbs or less BUT mines 74 lbs and part husky. So far no problems with it disengaging. She pulls hard.So far it’s held up extremely well.Last but not least the light attached to the leash is perfectly aimed down. So there’s NO awkward twisting to point the light where you need it. Seems to just point in the right direction naturally.Well done leash maker!Another bonus she can run down the stairs without pulling us down with the her. The leash is plenty long enough for me to be at the top of the steps and her the bottom.I’d 100% recommend this to anyone. Like I said I didn’t know I needed this in my life.
