If you're anything like me, working on vehicle repair all the time, then you know the frustration of dealing with stripped threads on an axle spindle. It's the kind of headache that can turn a simple repair job into a costly nightmare. But this little tool kit might just be your new best friend. The basics: This spindle thread chaser/repair kit comes with a variety of thread chasers and inserts designed to clean and restore damaged threads on axle spindles. The set includes different sizes to accommodate various axle diameters, ensuring versatility for a wide range of vehicles. Plus, it comes in a compact case, making it easy to store and keep all of the pieces together and makes it easy to transport.Performance: I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this kit works. The thread chasers are made of durable materials and feature precision-cut threads, allowing them to effortlessly clean out dirt, debris, and rust from damaged threads. The inserts, on the other hand, provide a snug fit and effectively restore the integrity of the threads, ensuring a secure connection between the axle and the spindle, which is needed to ensure safety while driving.Usability: One of the things I appreciate most about this kit is its user-friendly design. Even if you're not a seasoned mechanic, you shouldn't have any trouble using it. There are good instructions you can find online if you are unclear on how to use one or never have before. Any number of videos on you tube can guide you through the process step by step. The tools themselves are easy to handle, with comfortable grips and ergonomic designs that minimize hand fatigue during extended use. Wear gloves of course.Cost: The cost of this tool is a real nice feature. It’s quite affordable, but perhaps the best part about this spindle thread chaser/repair kit is the money it can save you in the long run. Instead of having to replace the entire axle spindle – a costly and time-consuming endeavor – you can simply clean and repair the damaged threads, restoring them to like-new condition. It's a small investment that can pay off big time in terms of both time and money saved.Of course, no product is without its flaws, and this kit is no exception. The thread chasers can become dull after repeated use, particularly on heavily rusted or corroded threads. However, this is a relatively minor issue that can usually be mitigated by applying oil to the surface of the threads being cut, and even to the chasers just prior to using them. Of course, there will still be the occasional replacement of the chasers, but the better you care for them, the longer they will last.In conclusion, if you find yourself faced with stripped threads on an axle spindle, this spindle thread chaser/repair kit is definitely worth considering. It's affordable, easy to use, and can potentially save you a ton of money in repair costs.

Anyone that has ever had to replace a wheel hub, knows what can happen, as you are removing the nut, the threads get boogered up because there's all kinds of dirt and grit in the threads. Or as you pull the axle out of the hub the threads get messed up. Well most people don't have a die set that goes up to these sizes and those things cost a fortune.Well for a pretty good price you can now have one.The set comes with metric and SAE sizes, comes with a tube that the die fits in, and can be secured with an Allen set screw, then put on the end of a ratchet and boom your in business. It's always a nice idea to clean the threads before removing the nut and even after to make sure everything goes on and comes off nice and easy and smooth.Nice kit to have on hand when things go whoops.

This set of thread repair ‘dies’ come in a nice case and it has a place for each of the pieces. The dies feel strong and sturdy and have the size printed on them. I used the 22x1.5 one and I was attacked it slow and carefully, I also used oil lubrication to keep everything slick so that the die could cut with less friction as possible, plus I’ve had dies break on me when I tried to take shortcuts. I cut and backed off pretty often and it cut pretty nicely, I did have very mangled threads and that area of the threads was pretty tough to recut. Again I used plenty of oil and took it slow so that I didn’t break it on my first use. In the end I was able to recut the threads and I was able to spin on the axle nut relatively smoothly so this did the job. I liked the design of the die holder as it allowed me to use a socket wrench instead of the standard die handles because I could get more leverage on it plus I could pull out the breaker bar to get even more leverage if necessary. Overall I’m happy with this thread repair set even though I only had used the size for my axles but I’m sure that I’ll have use for the other sizes in the future for some other projects/repairs; since this set came with a nice storage case it’ll let me keep this set intact instead of having loose pieces that I may misplace or lose. This is a reasonably priced set and even with the pieces that don’t get used I still got a good value as I would have spent around the same if I just bought the die and the handle separately.

I bought this product new or so stated. However when this product arrived it was definitely not new. The pieces were put in the wrong spots there were scratches on some of the die. The product did not work at all It just made more of a mess. I knew I was taking a chance of it not working however being under the impression it was new and it showing up as not being new is what really kind of floats my boat. However it was easy to use and the value for the money was good. Durability I would give an A+, it just didn't fit the axle bolt I was needing it to work on.

When working on vehicles, or anything using large hardware, there are bound to be times where you will need to fix or repair a damaged bolt or nut. The problem is finding the tools to do so, especially at an affordable price. These were the ticket! Useful for when you are hammering off suspension components, or hitting brake rotors off and you happen to graze a wheel stud and can't get the lug nut back on.This kit covered it all, and then some as far as being able to repair the threads and move on with the job and get it done. Would absolutely purchase this again if needed, but so far they have held up to the abuse given to them. Great product!
