The metal inserts do not fit correctly. You will need plastic ones.

Nothing wrong with the product, but the casters don't fit the chair. I'll need to either identify a caster size that will fit the chair or return the casters and buy new chairs with adequate casters.

By trial and error, I found that the best installation method is to counterisink your installation hole. The shaft of the female receptacle is 3/8" but if you drill a 3/8" hole, the wheel will wallow a bit. The receptacle is tapered a bit so that it is narrower at the distal tip. If you size down to 5/16 or even 11/32, it will fit but it is tight and I did crack a few of my chair legs doing that. The ideal solution is to drill an 11/32 hole and then drill the first half with a 3/8 bit. That will countersink the female receptacle and allow the wheel to fit snugly and without too much outward pressure.
