Good external mic. I also like the addition of the ear piece option for privacy. Mic speaker has its own adjustable volume.

Construction quality seems pretty good for this price point. The product is unique in that it has PTT switches in two places, which is nice, and the built-in volume control works well and is also a welcome feature. Receive audio quality is fine. However, transmit audio quality is very bad out of the box. I tried it with three different model Baofeng radios. Transmit audio level is far too low and also quite muddled.I opened the microphone and inspected the circuit. There is a 2K chip resistor marked "R2" across the microphone element. This is the problem, and it is unnecessary. Remove that resistor and transmit audio becomes OK. The attached photo shows the board after removal. You do have to make certain to speak right into the microphone opening (small hole) on the front of the unit, too.The included earpiece does not fit the ear well, but a foamy eartip can fix that.

Love this speaker/mic. Using it on a work radio I have to carry. Background is occasionally noisy so I clip it to my collar or use the ear piece if I'm operating machinery. Works very well for me.

Ich habe ein lautes Speakermike gesucht das auch bei Nebengeräuschen noch gut verständlich ist, zB Motorengeräuschen. Dieses Speaker-Mike ist wirklich laut genug, und die Lautstärke ist (auch) am Mikrofon selbst einstellbar, sehr praktisch! Klare Empfehlung für Speaker-Mikes mit Kenwood-Stecker (Doppelklinke 3.5, 2.5mm)

Speaker is loud enough and earpiece is all you could ask for. I wish it was more noise cancelling but it is as good as you could get. If you're in a loud environment, put an earplug in the other ear and you should be okay.

It's a nice mic for the price, the cables feel quality and the plastic housing is well constructed. Audio quality is fair; not great, but voices are understandable, and others can understand me just fine as well, which is all I could ask for at this price point. My main issue with this setup is that the earpiece jacks into the shoulder mic, but is fairly loose. It won't fall out on it's own, but if it's attached to some gear and it's moving around, you really have to keep an eye on it, as it'll work itself out over time. Additionally, the earpiece jack is a 90 degree angle, while the mic cable comes out straight, which means that it won't sit flush, and is more likely to be worked out of place. Oh well, maybe I'll just put a rubber band around it or something to keep it in place.

This is a copy of an old Kenwood mic (I used the Kenwood version at an old job almost 15 years ago.) Seems solid (not Kenwood solid but 1/4 of the price) and sound is clear.
