I've been baking fancy cakes since I discovered a cake cookbook at the library when I was 12. This was back in the early 90s and my mom saw no need for anything special so I learned to do everything without fancy equipment. And then I never revisited the issue.But this cake pan! It makes perfect Battenburg cakes without any fuss! Or at least with minimal fuss. People love the surprise factor. It looks way more complicated than it actually is. And I can match it to all different seasons and colors, which is fun.
