I used to spray Cyzmic once in awhile without regularity but at least once a year. Used a generic box store sprayer. Things went well and if we saw spiders we would just give em a shot of raid. Last year I vacuumed under the bed whjere I had some pictures in a big black garbage bag and threw my cargo shorts on the floor at night. Got a bad bite. Three days later while shaking same shorts out dropped a spider. I looked and saw a violin on its back. Sent a picture to UC Irvine and they guy there who studies spiders said it was a recluse. He went on to say he lived in Missouri in an apartment years ago and they were all over and he just watched out and never got bit. We have a large house with a walk out basement and these flame bushes around two sides about severn feet tall. I realized that since weve lived here in Kentucky these last twelve years I have seen a few periodically but they always just ran away unless I killed them first.. We also have wolf spiders, house centipedes, crickets, beetles and lawn spiders. With the other various Kentucky bugs. After the bite I did a few things. I got a coat pole in the bedroom and I keep things off the floor. I also bought a bunch of Maxcatch traps, The ones with peanut butter scent. I have eleven inside in various rooms and closets to act as a catch the strays treatment of which I now rarely see any spiders inside. I have four in the garage along the walls. I use them primarily as a monitoring device. I then invested in a good sprayer and I love my Smith R200 sprayer. Then after I sepnt way to much time reading about spiders and sprays I started spraying Suspend Polyzone outside and regular Suspend inside along the baseboards. My first spray seven months ago was still working well and we saw literally no spiders or bugs of any kind. I went a little to long and just sprayed a few days ago. I put six gallons down around the outside of the whole house and in the garage along the bottom where the walls and floor meet. I was creating a barrier because its early March and spring and summer are nearly here. I then sprayed the Suspend regular around the baseboards. I noticed after I sprayed my office a recluse was in the trap I had in there a few days later, I think thats from one feeling the outside spray or possibly inside. I added a trap and so I have two there now and I havent seen any activity after the one.So I am going to increase my spraying to every three months. I will continue to use the Suspend Polyzone outside and the regular Suspend inside. My closing thoughts are after reading a lot about bugs and sprays is that you should always use PPE . Always follow dosing directions and remember safety first. There are DIY stores online with lots of great information. Also if in any shape or form you dont feel absolutely o.k. with attempting insect control yourself then by all means call a professional licensed pest control company. So far I have been very satisfied with applying control measures myself. I read a lot online and so much so I am spidered out. I was amazed to learn that spiders can live for months without food and water. One thing also with my spraying I have taken away thier food sources also. I have come to rely on the Maxcatch traps as surveillance tools also..

I’ve been using the non-polyzone version of this for years and absolutely love it. It’s essentially oderless and keeps on working for at least a couple of months. It is not designed to kill on contact. It dries and leaves an invisible coating which insects pick up while they crawl around, and eventually die off. It’s not uncommon to see dead bugs laying around weeks after applying this stuff. My original use for this was to control elder box bugs that made their way into our home for the winter. The following year we sprayed the side of the house with this (using a diluted solution with a garden hose sprayer) and we never saw them again. Since then we have used this indoors in our basement, and various other areas to control spiders and ants. It’s been great and costs a lot less than having exterminators come in and use the same product. The nice thing about this version is that it’s more water resistant so it will hold up better with moisture.

Use this coupled with an Insect Growth Retardant (IGR) to control all sorts of creepy crawlies that live in the tropical environment I live in (Cockroaches, spiders, ants, mosquitos, etc)It does what it promises, lasts, and prevents infestations.I spray it on my covered walkway, up the steps, and in my outside car park area to control fire ants, and anything else. I spray along walls (inside and out), behind appliances, at doors, on windowsills and on screens (close the windows, spray the screens, let it dry) to prevent insects from getting in the house. Before spraying, put all dishes away, etc. and then spray, and let dry.It is easy to use. Both this product and the IGR have a measuring device built into the bottle to dispense the required amount, you dilute with water (approximately a gallon or so) into a spray bottle, and then spray. It took about two hours for it to dry inside the house (again, only near walls or doors, and in closets along the baseboards) and it is good to go.I no longer have a dog, so I don't have to worry about pets, but the claim from the manufacturer is that once it is dry, it is pet safe.

I've been a long term Talstar user. We have a neighbor with a pool which invites cockroaches to our house and backyard. It also doesn't help that they collect beer cans and never clean up after there dog on a regular basis. With saying that, roaches love their property and like coming over to mine. Talstar used to keep them at bay for maybe 5 weeks at the most, so I always found myself constantly spraying the peremeter and garage monthly to keep them away.I wanted to try an alternative that was more eco friendly and safer around my kids and pets so I decided to try Suspend. Wow, this stuff is amazing. I loaded up my 5 gallon backpack sprayer and did my usual route which includes the outside house peremeter, 4 ft up the walls, backyard peremeter including bushes ( to prevent fleas and ticks ) and inside my garage. This stuff lasts for months unlike Talstar and any roach, spider or misc bug dies damn near immediately. I am not of talking the kind of immediately after being sprayed but the immediately after being sprayed 6 weeks ago that acts like it was just sprayed! It's nice having a 2-4 month stretch of protection that kills these nasty roaches on contact. In the summer I spray every 2 months as I think the heat (100+ damn near all summer) does break the product down more and prefer a more powerful barrier. We have had some decent rain this fall and this stuff is still doing an amazing job of protecting after 3 months. If you are looking for a safe and effective pesticide, look no further. I've been evaluating this product for over 6 months before writing this review to give it a fair comparison. I no longer recommend talstar to people after using Suspend. ROI on Suspend makes it a greater value as well.
