Large shipping box for such a small box. The box was damaged. Didn't even open it. The case is damaged

Portable light weight and it works perfect.

this stopped lighting after a handful of uses, even if i manually lit it with a lighter, it stopped staying lit. seems cheap and wasteful, rather get a more durable soldering iron torch

Buy an electric soldering iron instead -- you'll wind up needing one anyway when it suddenly fails to switch on. This one was kind of neat, but more trouble than it was worth most of the time, as it was difficult to keep lit anyway. Kinda sad, I like the bigger Bernzomatic devices.

I purchased this unit to do solder projects ( wiring and plastic welding) without electrical power with a quick warmup tip and fast cool downs. It takes about two minutes to heat tip sufficient to melt solder or plastic. About two minutes for project then "it's out of fuel". I use a separate lighter for positive ignition. Other than its inherently poor ignition design, it's very easy to use! Other than its inadequate 2 minute fuel supply, it's very easy to use! This item is worth the price if you have a remote project needing quick soldering repair. I use it during camping for emergency plastic welding. It's in my box with the pliers, hammer, and duct-tape!

Only lit up once. Now all it does is spew butane vapors without lighting up.

Absolutely garbage.First of all, it doesn't consistently ignite properly. You have to listen very carefully to make sure that it actually started up properly. You'll have to ignite the torch a couple of times without the tips attached to learn what that should sound like. Otherwise you'll end up spewing butane without doing any work. That's just getting it lit.The torch gets hot enough to melt it's own solder, but only after being lit for 2-3 minutes. Mind you, that's about 75% of the run time on a full tank. So I hope you already know how to solder, and aren't trying to learn, because only having about 1 minute of soldering time per tank isn't much to learn on. When you get to about 10-15% if the tank left, the flame dies. No more soldering. When it runs out, the items instructions say you must wait for the unit to cool before refilling. Makes sense. We don't want explosive butane torches on our hands. Gochya, wait 10-15 minutes for the unit to cool before refilling. Then wait 3 minutes after refilling for fuel to stabalize before beginning use once more. Otherwise the flame won't stay lit. Rinse repeat.10-15 waiting for cool down.3 minutes for stabalization.2-3 minutes for heat up.1 minute soldering.Repeat.At the lowest time count, you spend only 1/16 of the time (6.25%) of your time with the unit actually soldering. At the highest time count, meaning worst case scenario depending on your environmental situation. You spend 1/22 of the time with the unit actually soldering (4.54%).My advise, skip this unit and get an electric one instead. One that will stay hot and allow you to continue soldering. Not worth the time and frustration.

Gets the job done, wish it had something to measure the butane
