My minivan had a 1-1/4" tow accessory. My bike rack uses the 2" connector. I use this adapter for that job. Unfortunately, the 1-1/4" is very loose for the minivan. I had to add the U-clamp to tighten the adapter and keep it from rattling. I also use a cable lock to fasten the bike rack to the minivan to keep thieves from hauling off with rack and bikes. The U-clamp provides some security but was minimally adequate.

Bike rack fit on adapter & adapter onto car. Perfect. The only thing I might do in the future is change out the pin that holds it on & replace it with a pin with lock. Minor stuff

Adapting a 1.25" receiver hitch to a 2" to utilize an existing hitch for a single Ebike carrier. The total weight will be less than the max listed on the 1.25" hitch. The 1.25" end of this adapter is solid steel. It has a 1/2" hole to accommodate a locking pin (for security), or a bolt. The 2" end is also super heavy duty, also with a hole for a bolt or pin. I thought this would be the weak point in my hitch system. In fact, it's the strongest point on the entire hitch. I can recommend this to friends and know it will more than live up to the task. After assembly, it extended the existing hitch by about 3" ADDING: The bolt hole in the adapter and the hole in the receiver hitch misaligned by about 1/4". Other than alter the pinholes or the hitch, I opted to grind 1/4" off the 1.25" end of this adapter. Short work with a bench grinder, but worth a mention.
