it work great But its way to heavy to hold above your head very long. vacuum to collect dust is a joke . Better have a dust suit, air filtering face mask ,good safety glasses and face shield . Seal very door and heat ducks before using. I made mistake of not covering heat dukes, had dust thru out the houses first time furnace cycled.

I used this to sand off the outer layer of hardened on schmutz of a concrete floor before pouring a footer for some new equipment, and later some plywood that I made into shop storage shelving. Here is what I observed:1. the impeller and bag for dust collection was not totally useless. It did way better than I expected, but hooking it up to a proper vaccuum would still leave it in the dust (pun intended).2. the ring of lights really throws the surface texture of what you're sanding into stark relief. makes it pretty easy to see where needs work.3. this would get very tiring to use overhead for extended periods, if my sanding the side of a shelf in situ is any indication. If you're sanding drywall ceilings it's probably still better to have this than not, but your shoulders will be burning.4. the sanding pad is softer than any I have ever seen before, I imagine this (coupled with the shroud that also limits how much you can dig into the surface) makes smoothing out drywall mud easier.5. the brush that runs the circumference of the shroud is not heat resistant. After sanding the shelves, and hitting a few screw heads causing sparks, I noticed the inner few layers of bristles were all melted together. I don't know if that was from the sparks, or the bristles flexing into the sanding pad under load. Either way, seems like that shouldn't happen.

This was the absolute worst purchase I’ve ever made in my entire life. The hose is not durable at all. It is like a toy plastic straw it Benz and it kinks if you even look at it. The sanding only sounds right in the middle. it doesn’t stand out on the sides. And it doesn’t vacuum up any of the dust at all. I’m absolutely sending this pile of junk back. I’m livid with this thing.

Requested this unit for a project that's been delayed so this initial review is prospective. The unit arrived neatly boxed and took all of 5 minutes to assemble. Overall a well designed and constructed product in my opinion.I really like the LED lights installed in the head of the unit. Essentially they perform as a ring-light around the work area and make imperfections easy to spot. The light can be turned on/off via a switch in the handle of the unit.Other controls available are a variable speed knob, an on/off trigger and a trigger lock (to lock on) button. It's about as easy as it gets. Simply pull the trigger to turn the unit on, adjust the dial to the desired speed (and it's infinitely adjustable between lowest and highest) and then depress the lock button to keep the unit running if desired. The handle is in 2 pieces which allows me to adjust the unit to my preferences. The lock/unlock mechanism is an easy to operate cam lock which is just behind the front handle of the unit. You'll notice this has built in dust collection. In my trials I'm not convinced this will collect a majority of dust created by the unit. The amount of air flowing through the unit seemed rather light even at high speeds. Keep in mind the slower the speed the slower the dust collection. I wish my project was on schedule so I could test this completely. But even if this doesn't do a great job of collecting dust on its own my plan is to supplement it with a shop vac (and I'll have to improvise an adapter) which should do the job.An important note on this unit is the motor and dust fan are all installed in the head of the unit which makes it noticeable top heavy. This is something to keep in mind for those with less upper body strength. For sure the wall will be supporting some of the weight but not all of it. My thought here is it would really be nice if the heavier components were located toward the grip (or even below the grip) of the unit. This is an overall well engineered unit which is easy to operate. I have no doubt it will serve me well on my projects as I get them underway.

Other than that the dust collection is a weak 50% . For doing ceilings good luck the motor out weighs the head and almost impossible to keep it up there long enough to get the work done, it's a heavy unit. Maybe for walls and flat surfaces it will be ok but not ceilings I am sorry to say.

My popcorn ceiling started falling off, so I needed this tool to remove it. I like the vacuum feature, it keeps mess to a minimum. There’s still mess, but it’s 90% better! The light on this thing is really nice. It’s very good at showing the texture of the area so you can make sure to get it smooth. This tool works really well. Only issue is it is back breaking work using it on the ceiling. But it sure makes the job easier.
