I bought some digital timers that were such a pain to set. I gave them away, bought these, and they are so easy to use. I especially like that I can leave them plugged in when I'm home and simply flip a switch to turn off the timer and manually turn on the lamp.

The listing says these timers are "compact." They didn't say they are barely 2' square. Far too small for my plug. Returned

I have four of these timers and use them when I am away from home for long periods. At first, I had problems trying to understand just how to set them up, and I suppose the instructions could be a bit more clear. But reading slowly for my aging mind, it suddenly all made sense. I replaced some old electrical/mechanical types that finally bit the dust. These are quite small compared to those old devices and they make no noise. I would recommend them.

Should be able to push the pins down in order to set the timer but neither one of the timers allow any movement of the pins. They are going back.

I needed one of these to replace a timer we were using for our yard lights. The previous ones I have used have all made a "cranking" noise as they turn, which is not too loud, but there. This one is totally silent, and I was questioning if it was working or not. It does keep time, though, and it switches on and off like it is supposed to. Looks good!
