It's just a cable that I bough to connect an old monitor on my new PC. I liked the fact that is braided and the connector color is like "space grey" from Apple. It matches my PC color.

I have older monitors that only have DVI and VGA ports on the back. I was using adapters to use them with a newer graphics card that had displayport and HDMI ports on the back. I wanted a longer cable for one of my monitors and was planning to get a longer DVI cable when I came across this. I actually had no idea there were DVI to displayport cables that didn't require an adapter!This cable is longer than my old one and saves me from having to use any kind of adapter. I can just hook my monitor directly to my graphics card. It's a nice, thick, braided cable. Different from what I'm used to seeing for computer equipment cables, but it looks good and works very well.I like it a lot and would recommend for anyone else in a similar situation.

I was searching for DisplayPort to DVI adapters, when I found BlueRigger's conversion cable. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to plug in an adapter and then a DVI cable behind it to run an older Dell business monitor I still have that didn't come with contemporary DisplayPort or HDMI ports. My Dell docking station for some strange reason was designed with two DisplayPorts instead of HDMI ports like the Dell Latitude laptops it was designed for. My laptops all have HDMI, not DisplayPort.Well, that explains my need, but back to the cable....it provides the convenience and less clutter with a direct DisplayPort to DVI interface. And it came in a 10ft. length to assure I had enough cable to reach my monitor. I will need it for a 4-monitor installation on my desk. The cable is well-shielded in a nylon braid, yet flexible. Both plugs are gold-plated and not of the molded variable. It's a well-crafted conversion cable. It works well, and the signal is clean and clear running 1200p. I would recommend BlueRigger cables for your video needs. High quality! I may need another DisplayPort to HDMI cable!

The DVI and the Display Port connectors are very good quality, and connected with ease. I could find a cheaper cable, but I am already replacing a "cheaper cable" that only lasted me a couple months before I started having a bad connection at my monitor end. This one looks/feels like it will hold up a lot better for me. Something small that I didn't even expect was that they provided 2 reusable velcro wire ties. Talk about a perfect way to make a difference. most of the time you get those cheap plastic coated wire ties that just end up in the trash. BlueRigger...I am impressed, you will get my business again.

Recently I've been having video disconnect from one of my monitors. It only has DVI so I have to use an HDMI to DVI adapter which introduced some quality loss. This cable was exactly what I needed to make the connection more stable. THe cable itself is great quality, the braiding is really nice, and the connectors are firm. That's part of the problem though, the bad connection is actually on my monitors side and the cable needs enough give to bend properly. The stiffness of this cable doesn't allow me to get a proper connection, so I wasn't able to solve the issue with it. It's still a great cable though.

This cord only works if you're using the DP side with the graphic's card, the DVI end goes to the monitor. It is not interchangeable. It's not intuitive at all as a heads up. I ended up having to trade it with a friend for a completely different cord altogether.
