These Support Poles are perfect to keep the water from pooling in my boat cover. I normally keep my boat at an unpaved lot where it is exposed to the rain. As you can see in a couple of the photos, the bow accumulates a lot of water in the cover. I put these up today and it makes all the difference. The poles and the base are sturdy. They are easy to setup and I like that the top part is curved so that it doesn't break the cover. The poles are tall and adjustable. They have two extensions that allow you to set them at the needed height. Normally you see these poles for $30-$40 each, or $50+ for the pair. I think $39.99 is a good price point for the quality. You can use them with the base or without it. In my case I preferred the base since it provides additional stability. I used one for the bow and one for the the stern. They look durable and I like the fact that you can just twist and adjust them at the distance you need, instead of using a screw like other models where they just end up sliding down with time. They come with straps for additional security to prevent movement, but in my boat model I did not need to use them.

These are really nice boat cover support poles -- the best I've had yet and I think I've finally found a boat cover pole that will work well and stay put in high winds. These poles telescope, making them easily storable and super easy to erect. The pole material is strong and the twist locks are firm and can carry, they say, 100 pounds of weight, which I believe. The tops are typical in shape, BUT have a male side snap attached, which you can remove with a screwdriver, and, in addition, have velcro on top. They come with two opposite velcro discs that have some really great glue on the back. They stuck to the bottom of my boat cover and are really attached well. The biggest problem I've had with boat cover poles is the wind moves the top around and the poles fall over, so the velcro stops that. If your cover has snaps in the right place you can just snap the cover to the top. I was thinking about maybe getting some snaps for my cover to hold everything in place, but the adhesive on the upper velcro patches is so good that I don't think it is going anywhere so no need for snaps. The base is not very large diameter, but sufficient, and has three holes if you want to screw it down to something else larger or heavier. They also come with rubber tips for the bottom if you prefer, kind of like the tips of a cane. The tops have slots for the included webbed ties. Some of the pictures and the video in the product description show slots that are open to the end of the disc, which would be great because you could thread the webbed ties into the slot, but mine did not have the opening to the edge of the disc, so I had to thread the whole line through the slot. The lines have a nice durable hook at one end, with a rubber tip, and it worked great to hook over the gunwhale of my Tracker. The other end has a plastic clip but no instructions about how to use it to lock the strap in place. I figured out a way to get it to lock, but had to remove the plastic clip, thread the end through the slot in the top, then thread back through the clip and double back to get it to hold. Works for me, but some more specific instructions on attaching the tie down cords would be appreciated. Because they don't have the open slot, as mentioned above, I will leave the straps attached, which is fine, so I don't have to undo the whole strap from the plastic clip. All in all, these are very solid and work much better than two prior products I tried, incorporating the best features from this type of product into one great product. Despite the issue with the clips and the lack of an open slot, I give this product five stars because, overall, it far surpasses its competition.

I got these for my boat because normal poles don’t cut it, they always fall over and are difficult to install, but these are game changers. They have an adjustable fit and they stay in place with the supports on the top and the bottom. I like the quality of the metal because they need to be waterproof for my boat, which these appear to be. All in all they function better than normal poles, and are cheap upgrade to fitting your boat cover.

I am extremely impressed with these boat cover support poles. It seems like such a basic item, but this product shows that with a little thinking and engineering a simple product can be made so much better. I have bought plastic poles before, and now know they were a total waste of money. Even the aluminum poles that came with my boat and cover don't compare with these.First of all, the size variation is incredible with the 3 stage extension poles. Makes storage much easier. The diameter is larger than my OEM poles. The options for the base are fantastic. While I have snaps on my cover, the availability of a Velcro attachment on the top is simply ingenious. My plastic poles I used to use on another small boat just slide and eventually fall over. While I personally don't need the straps, it is just another useful feature included all for a very reasonable price.I have seen many more expensive sets that offer less. These are top quality, complete, and deserve 6 stars if I could give them.

Here in FL we, as many others, can have fierce winds and pelting rain. Some products I have tried have failed the test. They weren't sturdy, they fell over, some couldn't even hold the weight of the canvas I was using. These are made of high quality materials and I had no trouble putting them together. They easily adapt to your needs so I could fit the cover for the pontoon boat from the bow to stern. The true test was a few weeks ago we had a heavy wind come through with rain and hail. I went down to the dock to access the damage and the cover didn't budge at all. No pools of water, no leaks. It passed the Florida storm test. That says a lot. I'm hoping I don't have to test it in a hurricane, but if I do, I'll update this review. Definitely a quality product.

I recently ordered this set and have been really happy with it. The support poles feel solid, and I really like that they came with straps, it makes a big difference in keeping everything stable and prevents the poles from toppling over. Great so the water doesn't collect in the cover - it's been raining for the past week and everything is holding up well!Overall, they’ve worked great with the cover on our pontoon and help keep everything propped up and in place. Super helpful setup!
