I got this to support a previously purchased Wise 8WD734 Series Economy Low Back Seat, with the expectation of using it in my Tracker SC-16 existing seat fitting. No Go. The floor fitting is entirely different. Bummer these are not standardized, or at least made to match a major brand.2 stars - my use case4 stars shop stool redeployIts being redeployed as an extra shop stool by attaching the base to a plywood square. Here is the plan for that:Shop Stool Construction Plan - 18" Base with Offset PedestalOverview:This plan describes a stable shop stool built using a marine pedestal seat mounted on an 18" x 18" plywood base, with the pedestal offset 2" toward the front to improve rearward tip resistance.Materials:• (1) Marine pedestal (Sparkwiz or equivalent)• (1) Boat seat (Wise or equivalent)• (2) 18" x 18" squares of 3/4" plywood• (4) 18" 2x4 stringers (for base box structure)• (4) Threaded leveling feet (20 TPI, 1/4")• Construction adhesive and pocket screwsAssembly Steps:• Build a hollow box section using two 18"x18" plywood panels and 2x4 stringers laid flat along the edges.• Offset the pedestal base plate (6"x8") 2" toward the front and center it side-to-side.• Attach the pedestal using bolts and washers through the top plywood layer into internal blocking.• Install leveling feet near corners or under the 2x4s.• Secure the seat to the pedestal.Tip-Over Angles:• Forward: 25.4 degrees• Rearward: 30.6 degreesSummary:This setup balances forward reach with rearward stability, ideal for use at a 35.4" high Festool MFT/3 table.4 stars as redeployed. 2 stars for original SC-16 use case.Unsuited for SC-16 Tracker. This seat pedestal was easy to install. It's got a little play in the base, but otherwise it's been a great addition to the jon boat!Value wise I think it's probably worth getting the mainstream brand for the peace of mind, and proven track record.
