The bit drills holes so easily it is worth every cent! Tends to wander a little due to the length but I started all holes with a short bit then continued with the long bit. The SDS system is incredibly easy to use in concrete.

Drilled quite a few holes (~40) with 1/4" with rotohammer as a starter hole without issues. Material is cinder block, high strength concrete in the cinder centers, vertical rebar plus pressure treated 2x6 outside the cinders without any issues. Some rebar was drilled through but not necessarily for each starter hole. Followed with 1/2" bit also of the Bosch "HC" series to complete the final diameter. I used 1/2" stainless steel wedge anchors through the pressure treated and bolted into the high strength concrete. I could probably have done the 1/2" directly but chose a two-pass instead which worked for me and the rotohammer combination was very effective.

Bosch bits seem to be the best on the market. Certainly the best I've used. If you're buying SDS Plus bits from Bosch try to get ones whose product number starts with HCFC. These are the heavier duty ones rated to cut through rebar. The part numbers that start with HC then numbers are standard duty and are not rated for rebar. The difference in price is minimal so do yourself a favor and get the HCFC bits.

AWESOME!!!! Drilled 18 holes 1/2" X 8" deep with one bit and about a minute between holes (let the bit cool down) on a HF rotary hammer/drill. Holes were perfect and allowed me to drop in 1/2" long wedge anchors without issue. High praise to this bit for the price considering other bits I have used for this type of work did not last more than 4-6 holes.

Works well with SDS hammer drill. Goes through concrete and bricks easily.

The "3 Star" rating is entirely my fault. I didn't research the drill bit enough, although I thought I saw a review that said that "the drill bit readily ate through wood". I had an old "Box Elder" tree stump I'd been fighting for years; I was going to drill around the base to aid in chipping it out.I think that you need a "hammer drill" to use this bit, and then it would probably do great for what it was designed to do.

I was a bit skeptical of all the positive reviews, but the price point seemed reasonable and I was really tired of trying to drill through my wall with a very old worn out carbide tip bit that seemed to barely budge through the wall. So I tried this bit and couldn't believe how well it worked. Previously, It would take 5 - 10 minutes to get through my house's insulated concrete block wall with a 1/2 or 5/8 inch bit. And if you just happened to hit some rebar, forget about it! With the Bosch SDS plus bit, I can drill through the wall in less than 60 seconds. Plus I'm not having to apply crazy amounts of force while drilling.I don't have much comparison to other brands, but I can't imagine it getting much better. I've got about 30 holes to drill to attach a ledger for a deck and I was dreading the thought of it. But now I'm not even slightly concerned. Thanks for the awesome bit, Bosch!
