Works great, I love the led light and since I have had the 1617 model the accessories work on this one as well. The trigger handle is also a huge plus on this router, not having to hit a switch makes operating so much safer along with the soft start.

One would think that being a refurbished one that they would have at the very least plugged it in and turned it on. Talk about some lazy employees whose job it is to fix / repair these after they come in. I had a slip of paper mixed in that had some initials on it which I'm guess, was the tech that actually refurbished it. When I plugged it in, the couple little led lights came on that light up around the cut. I then pulled the trigger, and nothing happened. I could hear it clicking, telling the motor to turn on, but nothing happened. It would not spin at all at any of the speed setting. Total fail and someone should definitely loss their job. Unacceptable!

I bought this reconditioned router from CPO. I installed it in a Bosch router table and began shaping raised panel cabinet doors. The motor is powerful and quiet. It can turn the biggest Freud cabinet bits, making smooth cuts in hard woods. But after switching bits and adjusting the height of the cut, the whole router motor fell out of the router base and dropped onto the surface below. When I removed the base from the table I realized the lift mechanism was missing a retaining clip. I called CPO and was able to speak to a person immediately. She emailed a return shipping label and I immediately took the router to a UPS store. In 3 days I received a replacement reconditioned router from CPO.

First....buy the Bosch 2.3 HP Combination Plunge & Fixed-Base Variable Speed Router Kit MRC23EVSK...its worth every penny.I installed the fix base to a Bosch RA1181 router table (just the top) which is attached to the top of a custom cabnet vs the plastic base. Then I bought this to have outside the router table.Great feature set, powerful, trigger built into the handle, LED, micro adjusters work flawlessly on both the fixed and the plunge bases...etc.Another great thing to have w/ this set is the Bosch micro adjust edge guide.

Nice router at a good price- my second Bosch. I like the trigger, much better than the flip switch on my two Hitachis. No complaints about the noise level as others have mentioned in their reviews. Nicely equipped with 1/4" and 1/2" collets, the height adjustment works smoothly, but the micro-adjustment is easier than the motor removal lever. One other feature I like is the 2 wrench bit change, my old Bosch (1613 EVS) had a sliding lever that locked the shaft, it was always a nuisance until it broke. Luckily my thin Hitachi wrench fits the shaft.I'll update after I get some time in use. My intended application will be as a freehand router to compliment my Bosch plunge router and 2 Hitachi table routers, one mounted to a Bench Dog on my tablesaw and the other on a portable table. I got tired of switching out my table routers and needed something with a smaller base than my plunge router. After some use I will say this router is hefty and stable using freehand, just not on small projects. Just be sure you have a good grip picking it up, I suspect it will do some damage if dropped. And I've cracked a few base casting on lighter (magnesium) routers over the years.Update 10/18/19: Yesterday the router failed, when I depressed the trigger there was a clicking sound inside the motor. It came on intermittently about 3 times, then it stopped clicking and working altogether. Turns out the seller CPO has a 60 days return policy and after that the warranty is honored by Bosch Tools for a year. I contacted them and received a return authorization and prepaid shipping label.I downgraded my initial 5 star rating to 4 stars for reliability,

This is an amazing router. I love the super strong clasp, trigger control, and durable looking collets. Looks and feels like a work horse. I trimmed a small table top which had a 1/4 Baltic Birch top and it cut good and motor sounded great. I've tried out a cheaper performax router and this is in a whole other category. The motor sound and trigger control remind me of my American made craftsman router which was rock solid. I hope it lasts as long as my craftsman.

Habia visto muchos reviews que hablaban de forma positiva sobre el router, el considerar uno reacondicionado es una excelente opcion si se quiere ahorrar algo de dinero. Al final funciona igual que uno que no lo es!

I was ready for an upgrade. My previous router was a 15 year old Ryobi R160 that had seen its day and I wanted one that had the power for router table use.I recently purchased the Hitachi KM12VC Plunge and Fixed base kit and the Bosch 1181 router table. The Hitachi worked fine but wasn't the easiest to make fine adjustments under the table and the plunge base would constantly stick so I returned it and ordered this reconditioned Bosch. After running it for a while both on and off the table, I have to say that I really like the above table adjustment, the trigger switch and power of this router.I've since decided to leave it on the table and buy another router for off-table use.I could have bought a dedicated plunge base but, long story short, I bought a new Bosch MRC23EVSK plunge and fixed base kit.I'm a happy camper with this setup (new years resolution: pay for the sins of 2013 amazon purchases). Now that I've had a chance to compare it to a new one, I will say that the new router runs much quieter than this refurbished one but then, wood cutting is noisy to begin with and I can't hear the router motor above the noise of even small shallow cuts anyway. Otherwise, they run the same.PROS:PowerfulAbove table full-range adjustmentVariable speed (required for some larger bits)Soft startTrigger switchLED lightsFine depth adjustmentComes with 1/4" and 1/2" collets and T-HandleCONS:The refurb that I got was noisier than a new one.The packaging was sparse - it was shipped loose in the box with only 1 piece of bubblewrap.Fortunately the tool is sturdy and there was no damage. This is a good solid router for the price.
