3-month Update (4-star):I lost one of the lights. The one I still have located has recently (within the last week) stopped working; the battery - I bought the rechargeable that can be bought from the same company - still works, but multiple impacts from being dropped, etc. seem to have broken the light's electronics or internal fixtures. I recently purchased a new bike and a new headlight to try out, one with a attachment method more like that of the rear lights. That method seems safer for the mount that these. If I find the working light, I will likely continue to use it until it stops working.Original Review (5-star):I have a few redundant things to say below. Here's the simple version:This product has its weaknesses. Excellent customer service covers for those weaknesses, and the strengths are as follow:-The mount, while weak, attaches the light solidly to the bike as shipped. The light does not shake, move, or wobble any more than the bike does.-The rear lights are bright and successfully mount to the available space.-The lights themselves are as good as a flashlight of its size, and has a normal range for self-contained bike headlights. They light up the ground as far away as about 50 yards, and can give a pretty good spread. The spread is adjustable, and the actual range can probably be greater with the smaller spread.-The lights are detachable and can be used as flashlights. They're medium-quality as those, too - and can have a wide spread at close range. Which means you can see things far away or you can see a quarter of the room from 5 feet away. The product itself is good. I rate it at 3 or 4 stars by itself. I use both headlights on my bike at about half the possible light spread; they light up the ground as far as maybe 50 yards and give me a similar effect one would get with a car's headlights as far as the width of lighted ground. The flashlight is sturdy; it fits very well into the stationary mound and the screws holding it still and attached to the bike are both easily tightened/loosened and hold the lights in position. It is, however, made of plastic with some thin connections. One light bumped a door on my first use and the mount broke. That brings me to the customer service. Almost every response - perhaps every response (I wasn't paying particular attention) - came within half an hour or less of my email to them. They offered to replace my mount, asked for mailing information, and offered a good level of customer service. It bumps my review up a star. The rear lights hug whatever you attach them to very closely and are held by elastic. If you put them low enough on the seat support, cars will be able to see it; I put one there and one on the rear axle. They are not at risk of being broken by bumping into them while you carry the bike by the seat - which is how my last one broke.

So far... I'm not so impressed.I used these for the first time yesterday - It was really dark and I actually had to cut my ride short because these got so dim while riding. I used some rechargeable energizer (nickel metal hydride) batteries that had been charged a few days prior.5 minutes into the ride both lights were too dim to ride by. I actually had to use my iPhone light to keep my ride going.I'm going to try to recharge the batteries one more time, and I'll test out some non-rechargeable batteries too.So far. I'm not impressed but perhaps my batteries are too old. I'll keep this review updated as I discover more.I may send these back... but we'll see.--- Update:So my trusty old rechargeable batteries are just not doing it with these. This last time out they lasted a few minutes longer but the ride was still cut short.(It's worth noting that my rechargables work with other devices, like portable speakers, just fine. But they are about a year old so that may have a LOT to do with it.)Additionally, (this blew my mind) the guys who make/sell these lights called and left a message on my voice mail!(I've not been able to get back to them, but WOW... A real person on the other end of the transaction! And, one who actually cares - Whoa...).Had to bump this up a star just for the fact that the folks who make this product clearly CARE about your happiness. Very rare and pure awesome!I've picked up some Duracell AAA batteries. I'll update this again when I've been out on a ride with the new batteries.--- 2nd update:Ok - I finally had a chance to ride at night with these and some new Duracell AAA batteries (6 for the set of lights). These are pretty fantastic lights. I rode faster in places I would have never attempted to ride in before with my other light. (These lights can't be over driven by the likes of me.)I rode in the darkest places I could find on my normal riding paths (not street lights, not car headlights - really really really dark) and I have to say these live up to the marketing. My only gripe is the battery types (I don't like one time use disposable batteries). I'm going to follow up with vendor to see about buying some lights they commented on picking up, and I'll also try out some Eneloop and Lithium batteries.I bumped this up another star because they DO deliver on their promise!I'll update again after trying out some other types of rechargeable batteries.--- 3rd Update:So after riding with these for a few months I'm taking a star off. The battery life on these really just don't compare to LED lights (I've replaced brand new batteries on once after only a month of riding and I've never replaced my lights that have LEDs in them for over a year now). And, really they aren't that much brighter than a decent quality LED.Something new has started to happen with them too... now if I hit a strong bump in the road (keep in mind I ride on sidewalks and asphalt not mountains) occasionally one of the lights will just shut off... or even better it will change modes and start blinking. I've fiddled with them a bit to get them to stop (opened and closed the battery casing) so it's not enough that I'm calling them in on that lifetime warranty they offer...These guys get an A for effort but the product is really just "Meh" in my opinion.I really really really wanted to love these lights (they look cool and the folks who sell/make them are really nice).I'm keeping them, but I'm not overwhelmed with the desire to tell my friends about them.--- 4th Update:Ok... so I've bumped these up to 5 stars but there is a catch. The customer support from these guys is just amazing (really the best - these guys deserve every star and then some).Add these batteries to your order and these lights are perfect.http://www.amazon.com/Bright-Eyes-Battery-Holder-Replacement/dp/B00PXTO90A/ref=sr_1_2?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1428012566&sr=1-2With these batteries the lights are powerful and they last for long rides with no problem (2 hours). At first I was really unimpressed with the light, but with these batteries (which are rechargeable) this setup is perfect. You won't be disappointed if you pick up these with the batteries too.
