Had an 'Old Shovel' where the wooden portion met the Handle was a bit off-size, took more time than I desired to finally settle on this one and it works very well. Only one small issue was the 'pin' to secure to handle was a challenge, easily resolved with a nut/bolt instead, works fine. Handle is a quality product.

I put this handle on my favorite snow shovel. The handle was cheap Plastic and broke the first season. This handle is nicely constructed and well made. Easy to install and very durable. I wish this was on my shovel to begin with. Heavy Nylon and super strong.

I liked everything about this handle. It fit the tool perfectly. Remember to drill in only a little over halfway from both sides then all the way in. I was almost perfect in the aiming and pin fit. You might consider using a similar diameter Cotter pin that is about a half inch longer than the width of the handle. Bit easier to remove if you need to.

This handle did NOT fix my shovel......it made it BETTER!!I wasn't expecting much from a lowly shovel handle, and I certainly don't impress easily, but this handle FAR exceeded my expectations! First if all, it's made in the USA; something that's important to me. Secondly, it's very sturdy! It's far sturdier than I expected and way sturdier than the original. And thirdly, it fit my snow shovel/scoop shaft perfectly!! One of the screw holes even lined up! My particular shovel had two screws holding the original handle on. All I had to do was drill out for the second screw hole, tighten up the screws and the handle was far more secure than the original because the material of this handle is thicker than the original. It took me all of five minutes to actually improve my favorite shovel! Yup! Despite my original misgivings about buying a handle online, I am certainly glad I did!

Be careful if you install this on a long handle. I had to cut off about 8" of the handle to where it tapered down to the diameter that fit into the new handle. The plastic is very strong and you can't force a handle that is too think into it. You could also sand the handle to a smaller thickness. Regarding durability, it seems to be durable but I have just used it to shovel snow four or five times so can't rate that.

Put it on a decades old metal scoop shovel, the old steel and wood handle finally broke down. The multiple pins kind of threw me beings there is only 1 hole requiring one pin, not complaining about an extra, just wondered about it's use. Keeping it for later, ya, right, like I'll find it. lolThe four stars are because the tang could be longer (fit father on down the handle). Full scoops in all kinds of materials, many heavy cause me to wonder if the handle will stay put. We have very humid and dry conditions based on the time of year, unfortunately the handle was installed during humid conditions meaning the wood handle is no doubt swollen, when conditions dry the wood will shrink causing the very tight fit of the handle to loosen... a longer tang would be good.

As someone said, its a handle. But it works really well. Like someone else, I thought it would fit per my measurement but it turned out my snow shovel handle was less than 1 1/4" diameter. Fortunately, a couple other reviewers wrote that they had that problem but they used duct tape and that worked. I was a little dubious about that. But, what the heck, I'll give it a try before I return this handle. And really with 3-4 turns of duct tape around the end of the wooden handle, it fir snugly. Finally, I've never even heard of peen so I had to look it up and watch 2 YouTube videos about it. And it worked remarkable well. You make sure the pin is pushed all the way down to the head, turn the implement and handle over 180 degrees, put something under the aluminum rivet head so that it doesn't move out (I used a short piece of 2x40, then his end of pin with a hammer, and many recommend the ball head of a hammer. As I didn't have that kind of hammer, I just used the flat head of the hammer and towards the end banged on the edges or the pin end somewhat and it fit like a gem. Thanks for others' reviews so I knew what to do and didn't have to return it and find another. Seems very sturdy and durable as others have said. Thanks.

Replacement handle is more than adequate with a solid feel, grip size and handle that is large enough when working with gloves. Attaching that handle requires boring a 1/4" hole to insert the aluminum rivet which then must be peened to secure the handle. Solid product that is cheaper than buying a completely new rake, shovel or other garden tool.
