About this item

  • Create the illusion of curves with this 6 inch version of Creative Grids’ popular Curvy Log Cabin Trim Tool.
  • Mark the wrong side of the center square through the holes on the ruler to ensure a perfect seam allowance. Then sew a round – two narrow strips and two wide strips and trim. Add two more rounds to complete a perfect 6 inch finished block. Sew four blocks together to “piece” a circle which finishes to 12 inches
  • The template slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. Then, Creative Grids’ exclusive gripper holds the fabric in place while cutting, eliminating slipping and miss-cuts! The template comes with fully illustrated step by step instructions or scan the QR Code printed on the template to view a video demonstration.
  • Rainbow Swirls, by Cut Loose Press, may be made using either Creative Grids Curvy Log Cabin Trim Tool 6in Finished Blocks (CGRJAW6), with a finished quilt size of 58” by 58”, or Creative Grids Curvy Log Cabin Trim Tool 8in Finished Blocks (CGRJAW5), with a finished quilt size of 76” by 76”.
  • The Rainbow Swirls pattern is fat quarter friendly. Cut Loose Press patterns are printed on 8-1/2” x 11”, card stock, with 3-ring binder hole already punched

I am so excited to try this grid templet out. The addition of the pattern will tie this purchase together. I purchased material and can't wait to carve out some time out of my day to begin this quilt!

The tool works great but the instructions aren't so great. I ended up going on Utube and watched a video on how to use the tool. It is still a bit confusing but I am figuring it all out. Wish there had been more information about colors. I started making two different color combinations and after putting them together decided I needed to make them all different to give the finished product a little jazz!
