Sometimes products just fall into the three categories which is like Grade C, it does what it's supposed to do. and it's not garbage but doesn't have instructions but it's not the game changer or safer than the seatbelt.

My dog loves to go on hikes, which requires us to drive a little ways from the house. Unfortunately, he sometimes gets carsick and throws up in the car, plus he sheds like crazy, so having him in the cab of my truck is not ideal. With the Bushwacker, he can ride in the bed of the truck, and I have complete piece of mind as he is not able to jump out of the truck, even if he wanted to. I just clip this onto his collar, and he's good to go. He loves riding in the back where he can smell all of the smells and get fresh air as we travel to wherever we are going. He can walk around and even put his paws on the side rails, with no chance of him getting out or falling out. I've owned this now for about 2 years now, and I use it multiple times a week. I'm impressed with the quality, I've had no problems with fraying or rust. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made for my pup! I can't recommend it enough.

I got this for my Great Pyrenees in the back of my F150. It works just fine, plenty of adjustment for my big dog down to a small dog

So far so good!! Just make sure to reverse the straps through the tension clamps like the other reviews stated and you’re good to go. SUPER easy setup. Could you make this yourself for cheaper at Home Depot? Yes. But at this price point it’s a no brainer, just buy it.3/3/20 UPDATE: Still going strong, renovated our entire home ourselves and guess what I used to secure all of the supplies in the back of my truck over the three thousand trips I took to Home Depot, this awesome cross tether! I just remove the center strap and clip it onto the end of one of the carabiners for loads that required a longer securement strap. Most utilitarian product I have ever purchased on Amazon and certainly a product I can stand behind having used it literally every day for months.

I've seen reviews for this that say it gets loose too easily. Mine did as well. The reason is because the teeth are holding onto the strap and there is one way to pull through that is much easier than the other way. If it is loosening too easily, it will be impossible to tighten without lifting the teeth. You will need to do the following:Take the strap out by lifting the teeth and pulling it out. Take the same strap and put it through the other side of the teeth hole so it is going the opposite direction. This will make it so you can tighten easily but you will need to lift the teeth to loosen it. This will make it so it will not get loose while your dog is pulling on it. Do this for the other side as well if it needs it, which both of mine did.I'm not sure why they send it out assembled like that but I took a star away because a lot of people probably don't check or probably don't know how to fix it and it is dangerous. I hope my case is rare.Other than that, after fixing it, it works great and my dog loves being in my truck bed. I use a harness instead of a collar so it's not pulling on his neck while I drive.

I LOVE this product. When I got my new truck one of the things I was most excited about was that my dogs could ride in the back of my truck vs. in the backseat. I wanted a safe way for them to do this however without fear of jumping out and hurting themselves or hanging themselves if tied up. This provided the safe way for them to ride. It tethers them to the middle with enough room to move a bit and look around but keeps the leash short enough to where they would never be able to jump over. It was easy to sit up and is very secure. I have even had a friends dog use it who is 100 lbs and there was no concern over its ability to hold this dog. It is secure.

If you love to take your dog for rides in the back of the truck.........Buy this tether !! Very well made. Feel much safer than just using leashes and harnesses.... I don't like to see dogs riding in the back of trucks because they usually are not tied up very well. Invest in one of these, rather than hoping your dog won't fall out. I think it may be against the law in some cities. But in Northern California, we can have dogs ride in the back. If you love your dogs, this will keep them from jumping out. It is adjustable and can be made to fit as far as you want your dog to be able to get to the side of the truck. I don't like the dogs to stand on the tire mound, but with this, I know my dog cannot fall out. I have a toyota tacoma and it has large plastic tie downs in the back. So, the hooks are normal size dog hooks and would not allow me to latch them . I just bought 2 metal hooks that would fit on my latches, and then could easily clip on the hook , that is the same size of any medium size leash hook. Great investment and great price !
